Welcome back, everyone.
Today we have a FOOD lesson called "What's in That Dish?"
It's important to know what things are in the food that we are eating.
Now there's a lot of different things to talk about with food.
That's right.
And I learned something really important today.
How to say the word "herb."
Remember, that's how you say it - herb.
Well, let's see what else we need to learn in Conversation C.
Susie, what are you eating?
I'm eating cheese fries!
Try one!
Oh, wow!
These French fries are amazing!
You're right!
Wow!
French fries taste even better with cheese!
May I have another one, Susie?
Me, too?
Sure!
I'm sorry.
We're eating all your fries.
That's OK.
Let's order more cheese fries.
We can share!
(Music).
So, friends, we know what Mark and Jim are eating.
Jim is eating a salad with lemon dressing.
Yum!
And Mark is eating a pasta dish with cream sauce.
So what is Susie eating?
Cheese fries.
Yummy!
That is a great dish.
It's not very healthy, but they're still so delicious.
That is true.
That's why Mark says, "French fries taste even better with cheese."
That's a great sentence for us to talk about now.
Yes. Something tastes even better with something else.
I'll try.
Ice cream taste even better with chocolate sauce.
Or apples taste even better with some peanut butter.
Oh, that sounds great.
You can try this sentence at home, friends.
Now Mark really thinks that cheese fries are delicious.
Yes, he asks for another one.
And he is so polite.
He says, "May I have another one?"
That's a really nice question because you don't want to just take your friend's
food without asking.
Hmm. You should ask them first.
Both Mark and Jim ask before they try Susie's food.
But then they're eating all of Susan's French fries.
But that's OK.
They can order more cheese fries.
Do you remember how to use the word "order," everyone?
Hmm. It's a noun and a verb.
You order food or other things.
And then what you order is called "your order."
We talked about this a few months ago.
That's right.
So they want to order more cheese fries so they can share.
If you go out to eat with your friends, it's fun to share.
Sharing food with friends means everyone eats a little of each dish,
that way everyone can try all the foods.
That's right.
OK. Now we need to do something important.
Reviewing our key words.
Say them with us right now.
The first key word is:
salad.
salad.
Would you like a salad or a sandwich?
lemon.
lemon.
I don't like the taste of lemon.
sour.
sour.
This drink is too sour.
It needs sugar.
pasta.
pasta.
Mom is cooking pasta tonight.
sauce.
sauce.
Mom made tomato sauce for the pasta.
cheese.
cheese.
Do you want cheese on your pasta?
OK. Those are all the key words that we learned today.
Right now we're going to review today's conversations.
This salad is delicious.
Try some!
You're right.
That is delicious.
The dressing tastes so... so...
It's a little sweet.
And a little sour.
Yes.
What is that flavor?
Can I try some?
Sure! Have some.
Ah! I taste lemon.
The dressing has a lemon flavor.
This pasta dish is really good, too.
Try some, Susie.
OK.
Mmm, that's good.
What kind of meat is in it?
It's chicken.
The sauce is delicious.
I like the herbs and spices.
What else does the sauce have in it?
The sauce has cream and butter in it.
Yum! Can I try some?
Susie, what are you eating?
I'm eating cheese fries!
Try one!
Oh, wow ! These French fries are amazing!
You're right ! Wow!
French fries taste even better with cheese!
May I have another one, Susie?
Me, too?
Sure!
I'm sorry.
We're eating all your fries.
That's OK.
Let's order more cheese fries.
We can share!
(Music).
Uh, Monkey Man, what are you looking for?
I'm looking for my lunch bag.
It was right here.
Oh, your lunch bag.
What was in it?
Well, a lot of delicious food.
Oh. Uh, what kind of food?
Was there a salad?
Yes.
With lemon dressing?
Yes.
Was the dressing a little sour?
Yes!
Mmm. Sounds delicious.
I hope you find it.
Yeah. Me, too.
It was right here.
Oh. Did it have pasta with cream sauce and cheese fries?
Yes!
Mmm. Sounds delicious.
I mean, I hope you find it.
Ginger, did you eat my lunch?
What? Monkey Man, what makes you think I ate your lunch?
Because you're wearing pasta.
Oops!
(Music).
So for today that's all we have to tell you about food.
I'm glad it's almost time for lunch now because I'm hungry.
Oh, me, too.
I want to go order a delicious pasta dish.
That sounds so good.
Maybe I'll get pasta with cream sauce just like Mark.
That's a good idea.
I want to eat something delicious but I don't know what I want yet.
I need to think about it.
So, friends, we learned a lot today.
And we hope some of it helped you.
We want you to learn a lot when you practice your English with us.
Yes, we do.
Thank you for joining us today, everyone.
Come back tomorrow for part two of our food lesson.
See you then here on...
Let's Talk in English.
Bye-bye.
(Music).
