Welcome back, everyone.
Today we have an eREPORT.
We can learn about ocean life in an aquarium.
That's right.
And at an aquarium, you can see all kinds of plants and animals that live in the
sea.
There are so many things to see.
So, let's learn some more in the next part of our eREPORT.
At this aquarium, we can enjoy the beauty of life under the water.
Some people come here to study different kinds of animals.
Penguins are very special animals.
They can swim like fish but they are birds.
Many people like these cute animals.
At an aquarium, visitors can also learn how important ocean life is to the
Earth.
The ocean gives us many important things like food.
But today our oceans are not very clean or safe.
Many kinds of fish and coral die because of pollution and people.
There is a lot of trash under the ocean.
People take too many fish from the ocean for food, too.
This aquarium will teach people how we can take better care of our oceans and
animals.
You know, it can be very difficult to see animals like sharks and stingrays and
other creatures like this in the wild.
You need to go out on a boat or swim in the ocean to see these animals where
they live.
But if you come to an aquarium like this, it can be easy to see them.
So make sure you come for a visit, and bring your family and friends, too.
Well, this is Gabe for eREPORT, swimming with the fishes.
(Music).
This eREPORT has made me remember something important, Katie.
Well, really, Nathan?
What's that?
Well, I was thinking of all of the fun you can have at places like aquariums.
Everyone likes having fun, but we also need to work to take care of the things
that we are given.
Oh, right.
We can have a really good time seeing the sharks and fish and penguins at the
aquarium.
But the aquarium also teaches us how to care for the oceans, too.
So we should have fun, but we should learn something, too.
And then it's important to do something with what we learn.
How can you help the world with what you know?
Well, you might be able to help care for nature.
You might be able to help people.
Maybe you can use your English to help foreigners that live near you.
Believe me, sometimes foreigners need help.
But remember, the world is a better place because of people that care for others
more than themselves.
Nathan, that was really beautiful.
Oh, thanks.
But it's something that I learned a long time...
No, no, no, no.
That was a beautiful way to use the English phrase: because of.
And now, Christina wants to help us with it, also.
(Chinese).
Hey, I think I can use that phrase again.
But it might make you cry, Katie.
It's all right, Nathan.
I'm ready.
I love aquariums because of the penguins.
Huh, huh?
Uh... yes that was... lovely, Nathan.
And I love the penguins, too.
They're so fun to watch.
But why do so many aquariums have them, anyway?
They don't live in the sea.
Well, no. But they swim in the sea to look for food.
Not many birds swim underwater.
And I think they are probably the only birds you will see in an aquarium.
Yes, I think so.
Penguins are very funny birds.
They can't fly.
But they swim, and they live in cold places.
OK. These are all great things to know.
But now we need to spend some time reviewing our key words.
Here's the first key word.
ocean.
ocean.
A lot of fish swim in the ocean.
life.
life.
There is no life on the moon.
tunnel.
tunnel.
The tunnel goes through the mountain.
shark.
shark.
No one wants a shark to bite them.
crab.
crab.
Look at all the crabs on the beach.
die.
die.
This plant needs water or it will die.
I hope that you keep studying those key words, everyone.
Right now let's watch Super Sentence Man.
Hi, Dad.
What are you reading?
Oh. Hi, Maggie.
I'm just reading today's news.
Can I ask you something?
Mmhm.
I need advice.
I want something.
But I'm not sure how to get it.
Hmm. That case, you should read this.
What?
Well, it's a book.
You should read it.
Because when you read it, you...
Read the book...
This book teaches people how to get what they want.
Well, exactly.
I am Super Sentence Man and I just gave you today's super sentence.
This something teaches people how to do something. Oh.
Well?
Are you going to say the super sentence?
Oh, OK.
This book teaches people how to get what they want.
Great.
Now, can you use this super sentence in another way?
I think I could.
How about: This professor teaches people how to give speeches.
This professor teaches people how to give speeches.
Great!
What about you?
Do you have a super sentence for me?
Sure.
This class teaches people how to become better singers.
This class teaches people how to become better singers.
Excellent!
Now what super sentence did you need to use with Maggie?
I wanted to say:
Read this, this book teaches people how to get what they want.
And that is how you use a super sentence.
Remember, a super sentence every day will make your English great.
Ha ha.
Uh, well, Maggie, what did you want, anyway?
I want my dad to give me some money so I can go shopping.
Give me that.
That's not the book you want.
Read this book instead.
This book teaches people how to save their money.
Dad, can I please have some money?
Nope!
Please. I don't have much.
Sorry.
And this TV show teaches people how to have fun with English.
We always hope that you have fun with us here on Let's Talk in English.
But we should all remember what we talked about earlier today, also.
It's good to have fun, but learning is important, too.
Right.
And when you learn something, use it to help the world.
Help fight against pollution and give us all a better place to live.
And help other people who need things or who feel sad.
Isn't it great that we can learn something like that from an aquarium?
It really is.
There's so much to learn if we just stop and listen.
And we hope that you stop here and see us again soon.
There will be more to learn tomorrow on our review show and then with some new
lessons next week, too.
See you later here on...
Let's Talk in English.
Bye-bye.
(Music).
