Welcome to our Saturday show, everybody.
On Saturdays, we always review what we have learned during the week.
I'm Nathan, one of your teachers here on the show.
And I'm your other teacher.
My name is Katie.
Thanks for joining us today.
Do you remember what we talked about this week?
Oh, I'll give you a little help, everyone.
Some of our friends went to a store for something special in our SHOPPING
lesson.
And LTE TV had a SPORTS team this week, too.
This team plays every year.
But if you don't remember what sport they played, don't worry.
That's right, because now we are going to watch all of this week's
conversations.
Pay attention, though.
We will have some questions for you later.
But now here we go.
(Music).
Good morning, Rob.
Is that a new shirt?
No, Carol.
It's not a new shirt.
It's very... pink.
I know.
I washed my clothes yesterday.
I made a mistake.
What did you do?
I washed a red shirt with some white clothes.
Now my white clothes are pink.
Oh, no!
I'm embarrassed.
Nice shirt, Rob.
It looks... tight.
I know, I know.
What happened?
I put it in the dryer.
It's also pink!
It's pretty!
Ha ha. Very funny.
I really don't like laundry.
I don't like any chores!
Go to the store.
You can buy a new shirt.
Hi, Susie.
The weather is very nice today.
I like nice days.
Then I can walk my dog.
Do you walk him every day?
Yes. It's one of my daily chores.
I don't like chores!
I like this one!
I can exercise in the park.
Hmm... Well, maybe some chores are nice.
Susie, there's a great sale at Sam's Supermarket!
Sale?
What kind of sale is it?
It's a cereal sale.
It is today from 9 to 1 and tomorrow from 9 to 1.
Are you going?
No. I can't go.
But I need cereal.
OK. I can go at lunchtime.
What do you want?
I want these two kinds.
OK. Rob wants five boxes of strawberry cereal.
But where are they?
I can ask someone.
Excuse me, sir!
Yes? Can I help you?
I'm looking for strawberry cereal.
Where is it?
You can find it on aisle 12.
Thank you.
I also need chocolate cereal.
That is on aisle 12, too.
Thank you.
This cereal sale is great!
This cereal sale is great!
What a super sentence!
Susie! You're back.
Yes. I got a lot of cereal.
Each box was two dollars.
I know!
Where is my cereal?
Well, the store ran out of strawberry cereal.
Really?
That's my favorite kind.
What about my chocolate cereal?
The store ran out of that, too.
You're joking!
Yes, I am!
It's April Fool's Day!
Here's your cereal!
(Music).
Wow, Susie.
You went shopping.
Yes. I went to the cereal sale at Sam's Supermarket.
Is cereal the only thing on sale?
Yes. But every kind is only two dollars a box!
That's a good deal.
I eat a lot of cereal.
Maybe I'll go after work.
You can't.
Why not?
The sale is today from 9 to 1 and tomorrow from 9 to 1.
Hey, Mark!
What are you doing tomorrow at lunch?
Eating lunch, what else?
I know that.
But do you want to go to a sale?
What kind of sale?
A terrific cereal sale.
Every kind of cereal is only two dollars a box!
Wow, that is terrific.
Sure!
Let's go to during lunch tomorrow.
I love cereal.
Me, too.
And I love sales!
Are you OK, Mark?
Are you hurt?
No, but I don't like getting hit with a shopping cart!
This place is really crowded.
A lot of people like cereal.
I know!
Look over there.
That lady has two carts full of cereal.
Don't get in her way!
Let's get our cereal and leave.
Right.
And watch out for shopping carts!
Hey, guys. What are you doing?
We're getting ready for the baseball game!
What baseball game?
Every year we play baseball against the Talk Time radio station.
And every year they win!
This year's game is tomorrow.
Wow. Can I play, too?
Of course.
Everyone at the station can play.
We need help if we want to win.
So you like baseball, Jim?
I love baseball, but I can't catch very well.
That's OK.
You don't have to be really good to play.
This game is just for fun.
Fun?
Losing is not fun!
We lose every year.
Oh, Mark. Be a good sport.
OK.
Do you have a baseball glove, Jim?
No, I don't.
Then you can use this one.
OK.
We're all ready for the game tomorrow.
Are you sure?
Yes. I have baseball bats, gloves and a baseball.
And you have uniforms!
Wow. You even have baseball caps!
That's not all we need, though.
What else do we need?
We need practice.
We need to choose our positions.
That's a good idea.
What position should we play?
Megan can be our pitcher.
OK, she's good.
What position do you want to play?
I usually play in the outfield.
OK. That sounds good to me.
I'd like to play in the infield.
How about you, Jim?
I can play in the outfield, too.
Let's play!
OK, Jim.
When someone hits the ball, we need to catch it.
I know.
Then we need to throw it to first base.
I know.
Look, Megan is throwing the ball.
If you need any help, I'll be right here.
That guy just hit the ball.
Here it comes!
I've got it! I've got it...
What a great game!
Yeah, and I can't believe we won!
That's our first victory in years!
And you made a great catch, Jim.
Thanks, but Mark helped.
I missed the ball.
I didn't help.
Sure you did.
I only caught the ball after it hit your face.
That's what baseball is all about.
What?
Teamwork!
(Music).
OK. Now you're all ready to answer some questions, right?
I'm sure you remember everything from those conversations.
Everything?
I don't think I remember everything, Nathan.
But we'll do our best to answer your questions.
I hope they're not too hard.
Oh, you'll be fine.
Now let's start with a question from the first lesson.
What kinds of cereal did Susie buy for Rob?
Oh, that's not too hard.
I think Susie bought two different kinds of cereal for Rob.
One was chocolate cereal, right?
Ah, good job.
That's one of them.
Now lots of people like chocolate cereal.
But what was the second kind that Susie bought?
Oh, it was a kind I've never had before - strawberry.
And that's a key word, too.
It is a key word.
Very good.
But now you need to remember some more key words.
I have a picture question about our SPORTS lesson.
What key words do you see in this picture?
Take your time.
There is more than one key word here.
Oh. OK.
OK. I see one key word for sure.
There's a baseball.
Do you see it, everyone?
It was inside the glove.
Well, there is a baseball in the picture.
But our key word baseball is talking about the sport, not just the ball.
Oh. OK. I see. I guess I'll keep looking.
But you did say another key word.
The ball is inside what?
The glove.
Oh, right.
Glove is a key word.
But there's one more key word.
Let's see...
I know.
There's a bat next to the glove.
Yes, you got them.
Bat and glove.
You must be tired, Katie.
Let's take a break.
We'll be back verysoon.
