Thanks for coming back, everyone.
Today we are talking about a special guest.
His name is Aaron Artist.
So, of course, he is an artist.
But he also teaches kids about art.
That's right.
And today we also learned about different kinds of art.
There is drawing, photography and sculpting.
But we saw that Aaron likes drawing the best.
Now let's see what else we can find out about this artist in Conversation C.
You sell your drawings, too, right?
If I'm lucky!
My drawings are in some cafes and coffee shops.
Sometimes customers see them and want to buy one.
I would buy one!
They all look so real!
Thank you, Rob!
Are you working on any big art projects now?
Yes, with my class.
We're making sculptures out of metal!
Wow! There are a lot of different kinds of art!
So Aaron the artist is really good at drawing.
He draws with pens and pencils.
And he's trying something new - digital drawing.
But he also sells his drawings.
Now that is a good sentence for us to look at.
You sell your drawings, too, right?
You do something, right?
Like this: You study English, right?
Or... You watch Let's Talk in English, right?
Or... You like to play games, right?
Try to ask a question like that today.
Now Aaron sells his drawings if he's lucky.
But you're lucky today, friends.
That is our Calendar Phrase.
If I'm lucky!
If I'm lucky!
(Chinese).
Will you go to the concert?
If I'm lucky!
Will you get tickets?
If I'm lucky!
Will you get good seats?
If I'm lucky!
Will you take me with you?
If you're lucky!
If I'm lucky!
If I'm lucky!
(Chinese).
Aaron's drawings are in some cafes and coffee shops.
So sometimes people see them there and they want to buy them.
Oh, I've seen that before.
I've been to some coffee shops where there were paintings on the wall.
And you can sometimes buy those paintings.
Yes, that is true.
And Rob would buy one.
He says the drawings look so real.
What does he mean by that, Katie?
Well, he means that the pictures Aaron draws actually look like a real thing.
Maybe they look like a photograph of what he drew.
Oh. OK.
Now Rob asks another great question:
Are you working on any big projects now?
Are you working on something now?
Are you working on a new movie now?
Are you working on your homework now?
Are you working on the painting now?
That's another good sentence to use.
And Aaron is working on another project.
He's working on a project with his class.
They're making sculptures out of metal.
They're making A out of B.
Well, now let's go to Christina and see what she has to say about that sentence.
(Chinese).
OK. So do you ever make anything out of something?
Maybe you're an artist.
But right now we need to practice our key words together.
Here's the first key word for today.
kind.
kind.
There are many kinds of dessert.
drawing.
drawing.
Drawing is my favorite hobby.
real.
real.
This money looks real.
But it's not!
building.
building.
Grandma lives in a very old building.
metal.
metal.
Cars are made of metal.
OK, everyone, those are all the key words for today.
Did you remember them all?
Make sure that you use them at home.
Right now we're going to review today's conversations together.
(Music).
Hello, everyone.
Welcome to Let's Talk!
Today our show is all about art.
Please help me welcome my special guest, Mr. Aaron Artist!
Welcome to the show, Aaron Artist!
Aaron, you're an artist and an art teacher!
I am!
I teach art to young children.
It's such a great job!
What do you like about it?
Well, I teach kids about different kinds of art.
They can try drawing, painting, sculpting... anything!
How fun!
You can't know what you're good at until you try it!
My favorite kind of art is photography.
Some of the photos I see are amazing!
But I'm not good at photography.
You're good at another kind of art - drawing!
That's right.
I draw things I see around me, like people or buildings.
Do you draw with a pencil?
Sometimes!
I also draw with pens.
And I'm trying something new - digital drawing!
Like drawing on a computer?
Right!
Hey, Ginger, why did you stop painting?
I gave up!
I'm not that good.
Hmm, so you gave up painting.
Yeah. But I'm going to try a different kind of art.
Oh. Like what?
Well, maybe drawing and sculpting.
Or maybe photography.
Ooh, are you good at those things?
I don't know.
But I can try.
Good idea.
Try new things.
Yeah. So will you help me, Monkey Man?
Sure! I can teach you about art.
Oh. I don't want you to teach me.
Oh, then what do you want me to do?
I want you to sit still. I'm going to draw you a picture!
What? No, no.
Shh! Don't move! Hold still!
You ready?
Ready?
OK.
Don't move... Shh... Don't move.
Do you know the names of some famous artists?
Maybe you know Leonardo da Vinci or Pablo Picasso.
There are many famous artists in history and today.
My name is Diego, and I am an artist.
An artist's job is not easy.
Usually an artist makes something from nothing.
They create.
That is why an artist is often described as creative.
Yes!
An artist can draw, paint, build things, make things from clay or take
photographs.
Artists sell their work.
Some work is not expensive.
But others can be very expensive.
Artists are happy when people buy their art.
Then they know people like it.
Being an artist takes a lot of time, practice and some unusual ideas.
Maybe you are an artist, too.
Quick! Grab a piece of paper and draw something.
Let people see your creative ideas today.
I'm an artist and this is my job.
Well, we have learned about a great career the last two days - an artist.
An artist makes art.
I think being an artist would be so interesting.
It would be very fun to get to make pretty things every day.
And you get to try a lot of different things, too.
There are so many different kinds of art.
So you can see what you are good at.
That's right. So, you will never know until you try.
Do you like to draw?
Or do you think you are better at photography?
Or maybe you are better at sculpting things.
Well, now we need to go.
But we have another great lesson for you tomorrow.
Yes. So make sure that you join us then.
We'll see you right here on...
Let's Talk in English.
Bye-bye.
