Hello, everyone.
Are you ready for some English fun today?
My name is Katie.
Thanks for joining us today.
Yep. It's great to see you.
My name is Nathan.
And today we want to review the things that we have learned this week.
Hmm. Well, what did we talk about this week?
We had a lesson about PETS.
Susie brought a bird to the office.
Do you remember what happened?
Hmm. We also had a lesson about long-distance calls.
Mark called two different people.
And who did he call?
And we learned a little about choosing between a hotel and a motel.
Do you know how they're different?
Well, don't worry if you're not sure.
We're going to watch all of this week's conversations over again right now.
So let's get started with today's review.
(Music).
Hi, Susie.
Is that a parrot?
Yes, it is.
His name is Sunny.
He's a handsome bird.
Can he sit on my shoulder?
No, he's a little shy.
Does he bite?
Yes, he does bite.
Oh. Maybe I don't want him on my shoulder.
Don't worry.
You can still say hello!
Hi, Rob!
What do you have in the cage?
It's a parrot.
Its name is Sunny.
Susie brought him to work.
She is doing a report on birds today.
How cute!
Can he talk?
I don't know.
But we can ask him!
Hello, Sunny.
Can you say hello?
Oh, no!
He flew away!
Because you didn't close the cage door!
Carol, what's that?
It looks like a parrot.
What is it doing here?
I have no idea.
But it has pretty green feathers.
Can I catch it?
I wonder.
You can try.
Put your hand in front of it.
Then it can get on your finger.
Or it can bite my finger!
OK, I caught it.
Don't fly away now, birdie.
Whose bird is it?
I don't know.
Should I feed it something?
It might like a treat.
Here, give it some of my apple.
Ken! I'm so glad!
You caught Sunny!
Whose parrot is it?
Susie is borrowing him from a friend.
I need to get him back to her.
Thanks for watching Sunny, Rob.
You're welcome.
He was quiet.
He flapped his wings a little.
And he got away once.
How?
I forgot to close the cage.
Well, you found him.
I'm glad.
Actually, Ken caught him in the Jungle Cafe.
Sunny was eating some apple when I found him.
Well, I'll take him...
Sunny, come back!
Here he is!
He's in the studio!
Well, he came to the right place!
Yes. My friend should be here any time for the interview.
What are you going to interview him about?
Well, he has six parrots for pets.
So we'll talk about parrots and their habits.
I know one habit of parrots.
Well, this parrot, at least - flying away!
What's wrong, Mark?
You look upset.
I'm worried.
There's a big storm in England.
My brother lives in England.
Oh, no!
Can you call him?
I can.
It's 5 p.m. in London.
It's in a different time zone.
But I didn't bring my cellphone to work.
You can use mine.
Can your cellphone make international calls?
Yes, it can.
It's simple.
What do I do first?
Dial zero - one - one.
OK. That's the international phone call number from the U.S.
Right. Then dial the country code.
England's code is 44.
Then I dial the phone number?
No. Dial the area code first.
Dial the phone number after the area code.
Great. Thanks!
Hi, Mark. Did you call your brother?
Did he pick up?
Yes. Thank you!
He's OK.
That's great!
Yes, it is.
But his town has 18 inches of snow!
Wow! That's a lot of snow.
Does he like snow?
My brother loves snow.
He's happy!
Hi, Mom.
Mark. Mark.
Can you hear me?
Does this microphone work?
Yes, Mom.
I can hear you.
Can you see me on the screen?
Yes, Mom.
I can see you.
Good. I can see you, too.
Great.
Is there a fee for using this video?
It looks expensive.
No, Mom.
It's free.
Did you hear the news?
There was a big storm in England!
I know, Mom.
Did you call your brother?
Yes, Mom.
I called him long-distance.
The storm was really bad.
It was on the news!
I'm worried!
What if he is hurt?
Nate is fine.
He's at home.
Are you sure?
Yes, Mom.
I'm sure.
How is work?
Work is great.
I'm interviewing Cam Chang tomorrow!
Cam Chang!
Is he in Friday Night Live?
Yes. He's in My Favorite Flower Shirt, too.
I love that movie.
He's a great actor.
Mom, I need to pick up the phone.
My phone is ringing.
OK. Remember to call and chat with your grandmother.
Her birthday is tomorrow!
I will.
Bye!
Bye!
You travel a lot, don't you, Megan?
Not as much as I'd like to!
But yes, I travel some.
Do you like hotels or motels better?
I like hotels better, if I can afford them.
But why do you ask?
I'm going to Chicago with some friends in a few weeks.
That sounds like fun.
I think so.
So should we stay in a hotel or a motel?
What are you going to do there?
I'm going to have fun and see the sights.
Well, Chicago is an easy place to get around.
The buses and trains are excellent.
So we could stay at a motel in the suburbs.
Then we could take the bus or train into the city.
Yes, that would be cheaper.
But staying downtown in a hotel would be more convenient.
And a lot more expensive!
Hotels aren't always expensive, are they?
The really nice hotels are.
But sometimes you can find good deals online.
I'd like to stay downtown.
Then we can walk everywhere.
But staying in a motel or small hotel in the suburbs will save you money.
Some of them give you free breakfast, too.
Downtown hotels might not.
That's true.
I'll talk to my friends about it.
Good idea.
You should all agree!
(Music).
Well, I think some big things happened this week at LTE TV.
I heard that Sunny flew away, and I'm so glad they got him back.
Me, too.
But that was very exciting.
It would be bad if Sunny got lost or if she didn't come back, though.
Well, that's right.
Hey, I thought of a review question.
Who did Sunny the bird belong to?
Well, that's easy.
Susie brought him to the office, so...
Oh, wait!
Sunny didn't belong to Susie.
So where did he come from?
Well, can you remember, Nathan?
Uh, I think so.
Oh, yes, I can.
Sunny belongs to Susie's friend.
He was coming for an interview.
And he had five other parrots, too.
Oh, very good, Nathan.
Now we have time for one picture question.
What key word is this?
Hmm. Oh, I know what that is.
It's a microphone.
But why was microphone a key word this week?
Well, Mark talked to his mom with the camera and the microphone in his computer.
That's why we learned that word.
Hmm. Yeah.
Well, now it's time for a break.
But don't go far.
We will be right back in afew minutes.
