We're back for our review show here on Let's Talk in English.
We're having a great day so far, right, Nathan?
Of course.
We watched some great conversations, and I answered both review questions
correctly.
Yes, you did.
And now, can you answer one more question for me?
Hmm. Well, I'll try, but I hope it's not too hard.
What is it?
Well, what are we going to do now?
Oh, well, Katie, I know that.
Right now it's time for us to watch some features together.
(Music).
Welcome to Let's Play!
Now let's meet our players for today.
Hi, I'm Lucy.
And my name is Jen.
And I'm Mitch.
And you at home can play with us as well.
Today we're going to play... What's That Word?
You need to...
We need to guess which key word you're talking about, right?
Yes, you're right.
Just remember, I'm the host and you're the player.
OK?
Now it's time for today's word.
Ah. I used to do this all the time.
This is...
I know. Borrow.
You used to borrow a lot of money.
Thanks for that.
But no, Mitch.
That's not it.
Oh, I forgot.
You still borrow a lot of money.
Hmm. Interesting.
Um... very nice.
I will take that bell, Mitch.
Hey!
All right.
This is what I did on TV before this game show, all right?
Lucy!
Oh. Yeah. I know. I know.
Cage.
Didn't you go to jail for borrowing too much money?
Well?
Well, um... I'll take that bell, too.
Hey!
No. That's not the right key word.
This key word is what I did on a very popular talk show.
It was called Let's Talk!
And I enjoyed it much more than this program.
And it was before all of my money troubles that everyone likes to talk about so
much.
OK?
All right?
Do you get it? Do you know?
Yes. Be very careful.
Interview?
You interview people on that show.
I used to watch that show.
And you are right.
You're today's winner, Jen.
It's always nice to meet a true fan.
Well, join us next time, except for Mitch and Lucy, right here on Let's Play!
(Music).
Hello.
Welcome to LTE TV.
May I help you?
You want to talk to me about my job?
Well, sure.
My name is Rebecca, and I am a receptionist.
What does a receptionist do?
That's a good question.
And I'd be happy to answer that.
Actually, that's part of my job.
I answer questions.
People call our offices and want to get information.
I will answer their questions for them.
Sometimes people call and they want to speak to one of our coworkers.
If my coworker is not available, it is my job to take a message.
If my coworker is available, then I will transfer the call.
I also welcome guests who come to our offices.
My desk is at the front of our office.
I am usually the first person people meet when they come to the office.
I greet the guests and then let my boss and other coworkers know when their
guests have arrived.
I also do many other things like receiving and distributing the mail, answering
emails and paying bills.
Being a receptionist is a busy job.
But I love it.
I get to help my coworkers and make their jobs easier.
Oh, excuse me.
I have a phone call.
I am a receptionist.
And I love this job.
Yes, may I help you?
Hey, Bartholomew!
Hi, Max.
Can I help you?
You have a stupid name.
Now give me your chips!
Oh, man! Max took my chips again.
He's such a mean guy.
How can he always be that mean?
Is that fun for him?
Bullies aren't always mean, are they?
That was a super sentence.
Huh?
I am Super Sentence Man, and you just used today's super sentence.
I did?
Yes! The super sentence is:
Something aren't always something, are they?
You said, "Bullies aren't always mean, are they?".
I guess I did.
Well, before I can answer that question, maybe you can give me a few of your own
super sentences.
Maybe I can.
Hmm. Rabbits aren't always fast, are they?
Rabbits aren't always fast, are they?
Good question.
Do you have another super sentence?
Plane tickets aren't always expensive, are they?
Plane tickets aren't always expensive, are they?
Great sentences.
Always remember, a super sentence every day will make your English great.
Uh, now, what was your question?
Oh. Bullies aren't always mean, are they?
Ah, right.
Bullies, they can be mean many times, but... but even bullies have bad days.
Even bullies need good friends.
Even bullies...
Uh, what's wrong, Max?
Oh. Sally's mean.
She said I was a stupid bully.
Oh. Well, you are a bully.
I know.
But am I stupid?
If you give me back my chips, I'll tell you.
Oh, here you go.
I'm sorry I stole your chips.
I'm sorry I interrupted you, Super Sentence Man.
I guess bullies aren't always mean.
What a great week.
There were so many great lessons to learn.
I hope that you all learned something new this week.
I know that I learned a very important lesson this week.
Well, really?
What did you learn, Nathan?
I learned from the lesson about Sunny that if you are taking care of someone's
bird, never leave its cage door open.
Oh, good point, Nathan.
If you do, the bird might get away.
Only open the cage if you know what the bird will do.
So did you learn any useful lessons this week, Katie?
Well, I did.
If you visit a big city, it's cheaper to stay in motels in the suburbs.
Hotels downtown might be really expensive.
That is true.
And that's all of our time for today, friends.
See you next time here on...
Let's Talk in English. Bye-bye.
(Music).
