You're watching Let's Talk in English.
It's a Saturday, and it's time to review.
My name is Nathan.
Today is going to be great.
Yes, it will.
And my name is Katie.
I hope that you're ready to talk about everything you learned this week.
This week started at the gym.
Rob and Ken both like to exercise.
Do you know which gym they went to?
Ooh. I think I know.
Listen for the answer, everyone.
And then our friends at the station had a cleaning day.
Do you ever have a cleaning day?
Well, cleaning days are great when your office or your home gets messy.
You should do a big cleaning day sometime during the year.
Well, that's a good idea, Nathan.
Friends, now it's time for us to review this week's lessons.
(Music).
Tyler's Gym is really nice.
Yes, it is.
It's new.
When did it open?
It opened in November.
Do a lot of people go?
Not yet.
But more and more people go every day.
How often do you go?
I try to go three times a week.
You must really like to exercise.
I do.
I want to stay fit.
That's great.
Exercise is important.
It's a healthy habit!
You like to exercise, too.
You like to ride your bike, right?
Right.
But it is too cold to ride a bike in the winter!
That's true.
You can ride an exercise bike inside the gym.
That's a good idea.
You can also try the treadmill.
You can walk or run on it.
It can even show you your heart rate.
What's your favorite exercise, Rob?
I like using weights.
They help me build stronger muscles!
Cool!
How do you use the weights?
Can you show me?
Sure.
Let's go get changed.
(Music).
Exercise is good for your body.
But it is important to have the right workout gear.
Here are some good points to remember:
Wear sneakers that are comfortable.
Wearing the wrong sneakers can hurt your feet.
If you sweat a lot, bring a small towel to the gym.
Then you can wipe the machines after you finish exercising.
Don't forget to bring a water bottle.
It's important to drink water when you exercise.
Hey, guys.
What are you doing?
We're looking at a website that sells workout gear.
Why do you need workout gear?
We both go to Tyler's Gym.
Is that the new gym on First Street and Park Place?
Yes, it is.
When I exercise, I sweat a lot.
So I need to buy more T-shirts.
And I need some new sneakers.
You should also buy a small towel, Rob.
Why?
There are towels in the gym shower room.
But you should wipe the machines after you finish exercising.
That's considerate for others using the machines after you.
That's a great point, Susie.
It's everyone's job to clean up the gym.
You're right.
Oh yeah, I need one more thing.
I need a new water bottle, too.
This office is a mess!
I'm a little embarrassed.
Don't be.
Today is cleaning day!
Everybody's office is a mess.
I don't like cleaning day.
But we need it every year!
Dirt gets into small places.
We need to clean them!
I know.
Thank you for your help.
I like to clean!
Today will be fun!
So, where do we start?
You can clean out these old boxes of papers.
I can clean your desk.
Some of these papers are really old.
Why do I still have them?
Who knows?
Throw them away!
You're right.
I don't need them anymore.
This is a new year.
I want a clean office!
Next, we can wash your windows.
My windows are pretty dirty.
This cleaning job is easy.
But Ken's job is hard.
What is Ken's job?
Ken is cleaning the whole studio!
The lights, the cameras... everything!
Does he need any help?
Yes.
I can help him later.
Right now I'm helping you!
How is the cleaning going?
Not very well.
We have a lot of stuff in the studio.
How about you?
I'm cleaning the office area now.
What do you still need to clean in the office?
I just need to sweep the floor.
That's not bad.
You can finish that quickly.
After I finish, I can help you in the studio.
What are other people cleaning?
Mark is mopping the floors.
And Rob is organizing old DVD copies of our shows.
That sounds hard.
Maybe my job isn't so bad!
I'm glad we have cleaning day every year.
Yes.
But I don't like cleaning.
I don't like cleaning, either.
But I hate messes!
I'll hurry and finish sweeping.
Then I can help you.
Thanks.
I really need the extra help.
Oh! Bring your broom.
OK.
What else?
Um... soap and water.
Got it.
I'll come in...
And some paper towels.
We need paper towels.
OK, I can bring...
And one more thing!
What is it? I can't carry anything else!
Can you bring a radio?
We can listen to music while we clean!
(Background Noise).
Hi, Susie.
What are you doing?
I'm dreaming.
Dreaming about what?
Taking an exciting vacation.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
In the summer or in the winter?
In the winter.
I'd go to a beautiful beach and sit in the sun.
What about you?
I'd go to Africa and see all the animals!
(Background Noise).
Rob, if you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Why do you ask?
Susie asked me that question, so I started thinking about it.
Hmm... I'd like to go a lot of places!
Like where?
I'd like to go to Italy and see all the famous art museums.
That would be fun.
And eat Italian food, too, of course!
Megan, if you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I want to go everywhere!
But what's first on your list?
Probably somewhere in Africa or Asia.
I like to learn about different people and cultures.
Being in a different culture would be fun.
I think so.
But now, we need to go somewhere.
Where?
Back to work!
Let's go.
(Music).
Now that you've reviewed the lessons, it's time for some questions.
I hope you were listening carefully.
Yes, we've got some great questions for you.
I think that you will all learn something.
So, this week Rob and Ken went to Tyler's Gym.
Here's the first question.
What can a treadmill show you?
Oh. That's a good question.
And here's the answer.
A treadmill can show you your heart rate.
That's pretty cool.
Do you like to run on treadmills, Katie?
Oh, not really.
I like to run but I would rather run outside.
Well, I'll run on a treadmill if the weather is bad, though.
Yes, I like to run outside more, too.
But Tyler's Gym sounds nice.
And exercise is important.
That's right. Exercise is very important.
Well, now we have another question for you, friends.
They're cleaning at the station.
What can Ken and Susie do while they clean?
Oh, another hard question, Katie.
But I know the answer.
They can listen to the radio while they clean.
Well, Nathan, you are right.
Listening to the radio while you clean is good to do.
It helps you have fun while you're working.
That's really true.
It sounds like they had a good idea.
Yes, I think so, too.
I often listen to music when I have a big job to do.
OK, friends, now we are going to take a short break.
But please come back and finish this Saturday review with us right here in the
LTE TV studio.
