My favorite part of the week was when we talked about travel.
Susie is dreaming about taking an exciting vacation.
Oh, I love dreaming about vacations.
It's so fun to think about where you can go next.
Me, too.
There are so many places in the world.
And I want to see so many of them.
Me, too.
And do you know where Susie would go on her exciting vacation?
Yes, I do.
Susie would go to Africa and see all the animals.
Oh, that sounds amazing.
I want to go to Africa.
Now I'd also like to go to Europe, just like Rob says.
He wants to go to Italy and see the art museums.
Well, that sounds great, too.
And do you know what else sounds great?
I think that reviewing our features sounds great, too.
Hello, and thank you for joining us for this week's show on Let's Play!
Now let's see who our players are for today.
Hi, I'm Lucy.
I'm Cindy.
And I'm Roger.
And you can play at home, too.
But what game are we playing today?
Well, let me tell you.
What's That Word?
Ha, ha, ha... what's that word?
He forgot the name of the game.
No, no, no, the game is called, What's That Word?
I will talk about a key word from yesterday or today.
You have to tell me what word I'm talking about.
Oh.
So let's play.
Here we go.
This is something you wear on your feet.
What's that word?
That's an easy one.
The word is shoe.
Well, um... that's a great guess.
But it's not the right answer.
The answer is a kind of shoe, though.
Here, let me give you some more help.
It's a great shoe for running.
Lucy.
I've got it. That word is running shoe.
Um... No. I'm sorry. That's not right.
And that's actually two...
Then that word has to be tennis shoe.
Uh... another great guess, but still not right.
Remember, this is just one word.
Running shoe and tennis shoe are both two words.
Well, what other shoes are there?
I'm wearing sandals.
Is that it?
Wait! I'm wearing boots.
Is that the word?
No, no, no!
What about you, Lucy?
Me? I'm just wearing old tennis shoes.
I guess some people also call them...
Oh, that word is...
sneaker!
That's it! Great job, everyone.
You... you all win.
Well, we'll see you next time right here on...
Let's Play!
Ha...
(Music).
Whew! Cleaning is a dirty job.
But someone has to do it.
I'm Alan.
And I'm a janitor.
Janitors clean indoor places.
They clean offices, businesses, schools and stores.
We sweep and mop floors.
We empty trash cans.
We clean windows and counters.
Without us, many people would have very dirty workplaces.
You might get sick more often, too, since janitors use soap and cleaning
products to kill germs.
Some janitors work during the day.
They work in schools to keep floors clean and clean up messes that kids make.
Some work in stores.
So if someone drops eggs on the floor in a supermarket, a janitor will come and
clean it right away.
Other janitors work after people go home from work.
They clean empty offices.
People are happy to come back the next day to a nice, clean office.
Next time you see a janitor, you should be sure to thank them.
I'm a janitor.
And this is my job.
(Music).
Let's play hide-and-seek.
How do you play that?
Well, you hide.
That means you go to a place I can't find you.
Is that all?
And then I seek.
That means I try to find you.
OK, that sounds fun!
But first, if you could hide anywhere in the house, where would you hide?
A super sentence!
Huh?
I am Super Sentence Man.
And you just used today's super sentence.
I did?
Yes, you did.
The super sentence is:
If you could do something anywhere in the (some place), where would you do that
thing?
Now can you give me this super sentence in another way?
OK. If you could eat lunch anywhere in the neighborhood, where would you eat?
Hmm. If you could eat lunch anywhere in the neighborhood, where would you eat?
Great!
Now what about...
My little brother?
Yes. Do you have a super sentence for me?
Um...
If you could play anywhere in the park, where would you play?
If you could play anywhere in the park, where would you play?
Super!
Now keep it up, you two.
And always remember, a super sentence every day will make your English great.
So, if you could hide anywhere in the house, where would you hide?
Hmm...
I know!
Behind this sofa.
OK. You hide while I count to ten.
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
Uh... I found you!
Hey! That's not fair.
You knew where I was hiding.
You told me.
Oh.
Well, where are you going to hide?
Oh, I'm not telling. Start counting!
One, two, three, four, five...
Where... where did you go?
Did you learn a lot this week, everyone?
We hope that you did.
Yes. This week was very important.
There was a lot of good English in these lessons.
Yes.
You learned about how to talk about exercise.
It's very good for you.
Katie, you exercise a lot, right?
Yeah. I try to exercise after work, but so do you, right, Nathan?
Yes, I also like to run after work.
And we talked about cleaning things out.
It's great to clean out small spaces, like your desk or your closet.
Oh, hey! That's a great idea.
I need to have a cleaning day soon.
Maybe we should have a cleaning day at the office, Nathan.
Hmm, well, I guess, Katie.
But I think right now we have to say goodbye.
See you next time here on...
Let's Talk in English.
Bye-bye.
(Music).
