Welcome back.
Nathan, has this ever happened to you?
Did you have a guest with bad manners stay at your apartment?
Well, I've had a few guests stay at my apartment and they stayed many weeks.
But they were great guests.
Well, if you're ever a guest, make sure that you have good manners.
You should be clean and appreciate your host's kindness.
Those are all good things.
Now let's watch this week's features.
Welcome to Let's Play!
All right, let's find out who our players are.
I'm Larry.
I'm Cindy.
And my name is Mitch.
And today, let's play Yes or No.
Yes or No?
Yes.
You ask me questions and I will only answer yes or no.
Oh.
Is this a fun game?
That's a good question.
The answer is yes.
You are our winner, Larry.
Really? Yeah!
No, no, no silly. We haven't even started yet.
OK.
Well, I am thinking of a key word from today's lesson.
You try to guess that word.
Are you ready?
Let's play!
OK, Mitch.
You get to ask the first question.
OK.
Is the key word something that you do?
Ho, ho, ho, great question!
No.
Cindy, what about you?
Hmm. Is the key word something you can hold in your hand?
Uh... No, you can't hold it in your hand.
Larry, do you have a guess?
It's something you can't hold in your hand...
Mmhm.
Oh! I know.
Is it ocean?
Uh... no.
Ocean is not even a key word.
Oh.
Is the key word a place?
Yes.
Mitch, it is a place.
Is it a place... a place where you live?
Yes, keep going, Mitch.
I think Mitch might have it.
It's home!
There is no place like home.
No!
Cindy?
Well, it's probably not the right answer, but is it neighborhood?
Is that a key word?
Yes.
And yes, neighborhood is a key word and it is the correct key word.
Cindy, you are our winner!
Thank you for joining us here.
And we'll see you next time right here on...
Let's Play!
(Music).
OK, don't move!
Say cheese!
That will be a good picture.
Hi, my name is Dave.
And I'm a photographer.
I have a big camera.
And I take pictures of people.
There are many kinds of photographers.
Some photographers are like me.
They take pictures of people.
Some photographers have special places called studios, where they take photos.
These photos are usually special.
People take photos in these studios during Christmas time or to celebrate a new
baby.
Other photographers are wedding photographers.
They take pictures at weddings and special pictures of the bride and groom.
Still, other photographers take photos of beautiful scenes, like sunsets or
storms.
And some photographers take pictures of animals.
There are news photographers, too.
They take pictures for newspapers and magazines.
To be a photographer, you must have a good camera.
Or several good cameras.
You also need to understand how to use light and shadow to take great photos.
When you are a photographer, you might take hundreds of photos.
But only a few are good.
Still, I love my job.
I'm a photographer.
And this is my job.
Gerald, I'm going outside to do a little reading in the fresh air.
Well, it is a lovely day outside.
Madam, are you looking for something?
Oh, yes. I can't find my glasses.
(Background Noise).
Mrs. Peacock, your glasses...
Head...
Head on... your...
What are you trying to say, Gerald?
Just... just say it!
Super Sentence Man? Super sentence Man!
I am Super Sentence Man.
And...
Tell Gerald what he's trying to say.
Oh. Of course.
Well, Gerald is trying to tell you your glasses are on your head.
Is that all, Gerald?
Is that so hard to say your glasses are on your head?
And that is a super sentence, Mrs. Peacock.
The super sentence is:
Something is / are on something else.
That's it?
Why, that's easy!
Well, that's wonderful.
Then you give it a try!
Use this super sentence in your own way.
The flowers are on my desk.
The flowers are on my desk.
Now, Gerald, you try it.
You need to practice your English.
Of course, madam.
The plate is on the table.
The plate is on the table.
Super!
Now what super sentence did you need to use with Mrs. Peacock?
(Background Noise).
Mrs. Peacock, your glasses are on your head.
Ah, very good, Gerald.
Yes, it was.
It was a super sentence.
Now remember, a super sentence every day will make your English great!
Well, that's wonderful for Gerald, but I still haven't found my glasses.
Your glasses are on your head!
Oh.
So they are.
Silly me!
Well, that's all the time that we have for today.
I think that this was an exciting week.
Yes, we learned about robbers.
And there was a police officer at the Jungle Cafe.
And we learned how to take pictures.
I want to go practice.
I just need to go get my camera.
Well, you should, because now we have to say...
See you next time here on...
Let's Talk in English.
Goodbye.
(Music).
