Welcome back to Let's Talk in English.
Let's play a key word game now.
Today's game is called Two...
... in One.
In this game I will use two key words in one sentence.
Which key words did I use?
Well, that's what you need to tell me.
Here's my sentence.
Beth's home has an unusual kitchen.
Beth's home has an unusual kitchen.
OK. Well, today we're talking a lot about houses.
And a kitchen is a room in a house.
So kitchen has to be one of the key words.
But the other one... that's hard...
Oh, oh! I know! Mark and Megan were talking about unusual houses.
The other key word is unusual.
Those are the right key words.
Unusual and kitchen. Very good job!
All right, now it's time to review today's conversations together.
(Music).
Hi, Megan. Hi, Mark.
You two look busy.
Hi, Ken. We're looking at a magazine.
It has all kinds of photos of unusual houses!
Take a look. This house looks like a UFO!
Cool! The house is round!
And look at this one.
Someone made an airplane into a house.
That's amazing!
Look at this "Walking House." The house has legs!
It can walk around!
You're kidding!
No! It really can! It gets power from the wind and sun.
My favorite house is shaped like a ball!
How could you live in such a small house?
It is pretty tiny.
It has power, water and a bedroom.
What else do I need?
I always wanted to live in a treehouse.
I had a treehouse when I was young!
I played in it for hours!
I want a big treehouse, high above the ground.
It will have bedrooms, and a kitchen, and...
Won't you get tired of climbing up and down every day?
Maybe. But if I had a great treehouse, I might never leave!
Hey, Monkey Man. What are you doing?
I'm looking at houses.
Oh. Dream houses?
No. These houses are unusual houses.
Oh. Well, why are they unusual?
Well, because... well, take a look at this one.
It's round. See?
Hey, it looks like a UFO.
Beep...
UFO.
Well, I like it.
Oh. Hey, that's not a house.
That one is an airplane!
Oh, this one here?
Yeah. It was an airplane, but now it's a house.
Wow! Hey, that's amazing!
Yeah. And look at this one.
It's a "Walking House." A Walking House?
Yeah. It walks around.
Well, the best house is a treehouse.
A treehouse?
Yeah. A treehouse... in a banana tree. Yeah!
(Chinese).
eREPORT.
Hello, everyone.
This is Gabe for eREPORT.
And today is a great day to do something fun outside.
So I am at an amusement park today!
Everyone loves amusement parks, right?
Well, there are interesting shows, food, music, and of course, rides!
So let's go!
What do you do at an amusement park?
Lots of fun things.
When you go into an amusement park, you go on rides.
Many people stand in line and wait to ride the roller coasters.
Roller coasters can go very fast.
They go up, down, left and right.
Some rides go on train tracks.
Other rides go through water.
Riding on a roller coaster can be scary and exciting at the same time.
At an amusement park, there are usually areas with different themes.
One area may have a Wild West theme or a Tropical Island theme.
There is always something fun to see and do at an amusement park all year long.
Well, that was an exciting ride.
My heart is still beating very fast.
I love amusement parks.
Actually, I'm going to go on another roller coaster.
But that just means I have to wait in line again.
Oh, well, I love it too much.
This is Gabe for eREPORT having fun at an amusement park.
Calendar Phrase.
What else do I need?
What else do I need?
(Chinese).
You have a good house.
I sure do.
What else do I need?
You have a good job.
I sure do.
What else do I need?
You have a good car.
I sure do.
I have everything.
What else do I need?
A good wife!
A good wife!?
Oh. Well, uh.
What else do I need?
What else do I need?
(Chinese).
We have finished our lesson called Dream Houses.
But Katie, now that we've talked about several dream houses, do you know what
your dream house would look like?
Well, I think I have an idea now.
I would like something small.
Maybe only one or two bedrooms, and definitely close to the ocean!
Nothing too unusual. And it has to have a library.
But that's all.
Hmm. Well, that sounds pretty nice, Katie.
Now, friends, think about your dream home.
What do you want?
Yes. Think about what kind of home you want.
It's your dream home, so you can have anything you dream of.
Maybe some day you can have your dream home.
Now, tomorrow we'll have a new lesson.
We hope that you can all come back and join us then.
So, see you later right here on...
Let's Talk in English. Bye-bye.
(Music).
