Hello again, friends.
Let's play a key word game.
Today we'll play a game called I Know It!
I Know It!
Do You Know It?
In this game I will talk about one of today's key words.
Please tell me which key word you think I am talking about.
Let's play.
This key word is used for places that are not your country.
If you are in a different country than where you usually live, you could say you
are (blank).
Oh, Nathan, I know it!
The key word that you're talking about is abroad.
If you're in a different country, you're abroad.
That's right.
Remember, you can travel abroad or study abroad, too.
Now, let's review today's conversations together.
(Music).
Hi, Rob. What are you writing?
I'm writing a postcard to my friend in Taipei.
He collects postcards from different countries.
Fun! What picture is on the postcard?
It's an old photo of our town.
That's an interesting postcard!
Where did you buy it?
At the bookstore.
They sell a lot of postcards there.
Does your friend send postcards to you?
Yes! Actually, I collect postcards, too.
Are they from different countries?
No. Most of them are from this city!
A lot of people watch my show.
Some of them send me postcards!
That's nice of them!
I love mail from fans!
I do, too!
So your postcards are from around here.
Are they all the same?
Not at all! Many people make the postcards.
I keep each one!
That's really special.
I have a few postcards from abroad, too.
Where are they from?
Well, I have one from France.
Megan mailed it to me!
She mailed one to me, too!
Oh, no!
Ginger, you're writing a postcard?
Yeah. But it isn't easy.
Ginger, monkeys can't write.
That's why it isn't easy!
Well, maybe I can help you.
Ooh, will you teach me how to write?
No. But I'll help you write the postcard.
OK. Thank you.
Sure. Now I'm gonna take your pen here.
What do you want me to write?
Write words.
I know that. What words?
Uh, let me see... uh...
Go ahead.
Oh, I know. Dear Monkey Man...
Ginger, is this a postcard for me?
Yes!
Ginger, that's so nice.
Yes, it is.
OK.
Write: Dear Monkey Man, you are a crazy guy.
Ginger, that's not nice.
Just funny.
Hello.

Today, let's Answer It together.
Here's question one:
What is Rob writing?
What is Rob writing?
You can find the answer in Conversation A.
He's writing a postcard to his friend.
Question two:
Do you ever get postcards in the mail?
Do you ever get postcards in the mail?
Let's listen to some answers from our friends.
(Music).
Do I ever get postcards in the mail?
Yes. Sometimes I get postcards from friends and family.
They send me postcards when they travel around the world.
They see cool cities or beautiful country... places around the world.
And they have postcards that they send to me and tell me how great everything
is.
I... I don't like postcards.
Do I ever get postcards in the mail?
Yes. Look. I got this one.
Let me read it to you.
It says, "Dear Ginger..." It's from a fan.
I love you.
You are the best monkey ever.
You're so smart, even if Monkey Man is not.
Oh, I love fan mail.
I love postcards. And I love you.
Send postcards. Bye, everyone.
Do I ever get postcards in the mail?
Sometimes I get postcards in the mail.
I don't get as many as I used to get.
Before the Internet, and before Gmail, and before Facebook, I got a lot of
postcards.
But now they're not so common.
But I do get some.
For example, when my son or daughter go visiting another country, they always
send me a postcard.
I actually love to get them.
Do I ever get postcards in the mail?
Well, sometimes.
I get postcards from my friends when they're on vacation.
I love to read their notes and see the beautiful pictures of the places they're
visiting.
I get postcards from another person, too.
Guess who?
My dentist.
He sends me a postcard every six months to remind me to visit him.
I like the reminder. It's easy to forget.
That's all of our show for today.
Did you learn a lot?
We hope that you did.
Maybe you could write a postcard to a friend.
And please join us tomorrow for part two of this lesson right here on...
Let's Talk in English. Bye-bye.
(Music).
