Welcome back.
It's time to play a game.
And today's game is called Two...
... in One.
Now what was that again, Nathan?
Two...
... in One.
That's right.
Friends, I will say a sentence that has two key words in it.
You need to tell us which key words I use.
Are you ready?
Here is my sentence.
He is upset because he didn't win.
Hmm.
He is upset because he didn't win.
He is "upset" - that's the first key word - because he didn't "win" - that's the
second key word.
That's right, Nathan.
I used the key words: upset and win.
You're right.
Friends, I'm sure that you were right, too.
Make your own Two in One sentence at home.
Right now let's review today's conversations.
(Music).
Did you see Ken today, Rob?
Yes. Are you looking for him?
No. I saw him, too.
He looked upset.
He is.
His favorite restaurant is closing.
Oh. That's too bad.
He'll be OK.
Hey, guys, I have good news!
You do?
What is it, Carol?
The TV station won three awards!
Three awards!
That's fantastic!
I know!
I'm so excited!
What were the awards for?
Tell us more!
Our website won an award for its design.
Our web designers will be proud!
They should be!
I'm proud, too!
We got another award for one of our news stories.
Which news story?
The story about the lost little girl.
Oh, yes!
Her whole community helped look for her.
Right. They always had hope!
And they found her!
Wonderful!
So we won the award for great reporting.
That's right!
And what was the third award?
The third award is for our cameraman on that story!
Ken!
Wow! You'll have to tell Ken!
Yes! This news will cheer him up!
I have some good news, Monkey Man.
Really, Ginger?
What's your good news?
Look at this.
I won an award.
Wow. That's fantastic!
Yes.
I'm so excited.
Well, Ginger, what is the award for?
I don't know.
I can't read it.
OK, let me see.
It's for...
Best website design?
No. You didn't design a website.
Best news story?
No. You don't do news stories.
Best camera monkey?
No. You're not a camera monkey.
So what is my award for?
It says Best Monkey on the Show.
Hooray! I'm the best monkey on the show!
And the only monkey...
Yeah.
Yeah. But it is kind of nice.
Hello.
(Chinese).
eREPORT.
Hello and welcome to eREPORT.
My name is Daniel.
In every city, there are unusual buildings.
Some buildings people live in, other buildings are museums, and others have
other uses.
Let's take a look at some of these unusual buildings in the city of Seattle.
The Space Needle is a famous landmark in the city of Seattle.
The Space Needle is a tower and restaurant.
This tower is over 50 years old and is still a popular place to visit.
People ride in an elevator to the top of the Space Needle.
Then they can see a beautiful view.
Another unusual building is next to the Space Needle.
It is the EMP Museum.
This is a great museum about the history of music and culture.
The walls of this building are very round and colorful.
This building also has a tunnel through it.
A train goes through it.
Here is another unusual building.
The walls are very straight and made of glass.
It looks like a building from the future.
This building is the Seattle Public Library.
It has 11 floors and a lot of room for books.
There are landmarks in many cities around the world.
What about your city?
Are there unusual buildings or landmarks in your city?
This is Daniel for eREPORT reporting in Seattle.
Calendar Phrase.
That's fantastic!
That's fantastic!
(Chinese).
I have a girlfriend!
That's fantastic!
She's very nice.
That's fantastic!
And she's pretty, too.
That's fantastic!
Who is she?
Mary Sue.
Mary Sue?
Yeah. She's fantastic!
That's fantastic!
That's fantastic!
(Chinese).
Well, I really do hope that Ken will feel better because of his award.
Don't you, Nathan?
Well, yes, I hope so, too.
But I don't think he should be so upset about the restaurant closing.
That happens a lot.
Yeah, but it's his favorite restaurant.
I would feel upset if I couldn't go to my favorite restaurant anymore, too.
Well, it's too bad that Sunny's is closing, but I think Ken will be OK.
The award he won should help.
If it doesn't, Ken really is too upset.
Well, what do you think, friends?
Would you be upset if you were Ken?
Or would the award give you hope?
I hope that it would.
These are great questions to talk about, but we're out of time today.
Don't worry, though.
We'll see you next time right here on...
Let's Talk in English. Bye-bye!
(Music).
