Hello again, friends.
Right now we want to play a game.
And today Katie and I are going to use all of today's key words to tell you a
story.
I'll get started.
Tom and Joy found the best spot for a picnic.
It's very convenient because it is close to their house.
But there are a lot of bugs.
That's not good.
So they take lemon peels to get rid of the bugs.
They make sure to cover all their food so it does not get dirty.
That's a great idea.
But the best part about this spot - it's next to a stream.
OK, friends, I think it's time to review today's conversations.
Let's do that now.
(Music).
Hello, everyone. Welcome to Let's Talk!
Well, it's summertime.
And summertime is the perfect time for picnics.
And here to tell us all about picnics is Miss Penny Picnic.
Welcome, Penny Picnic!
Thanks, Rob.
I love talking about picnics!
So tell us what makes a picnic perfect.
Location is very important.
Find a spot that's not too crowded.
Like at a nice park?
Yes! Or have your picnic near a lake or a stream, or on a beach!
You like picnics near water!
I do! But a picnic in the mountains is lovely, too.
Let's talk more about picnics at parks.
Many parks have picnic tables and trash cans.
That's convenient.
What about bugs?
Use lemon or orange peels.
Why?
Bugs don't like those fruits.
Just put the peels near your food, and bugs will stay away.
Any other tips?
Cover your food and drinks as often as you can!

How about cheese sandwiches? Mmm.

Right here!
At the Jungle Cafe? Why?
Because we're already here.
Let's eat!
OK.
Here, have a banana.
This is the perfect place and the perfect picnic.

This looks like a nice, quiet place.
Let's sit here.

I'm glad we can finally find some place alone.
It's a really nice day.
The sun is shining.
The birds are singing.

Well, what is it, Harry?
I want to say...

What a wonderful week!
I think we've all learned a lot.
I know that I have, Nathan.
And I want to go out and plan my own perfect picnic right now.
Nathan, where do you usually go on picnics?
Well, I... I don't go on picnics that much.
But um, I guess maybe you could go to a park.
Or, there's a river near where I live.
I could go to a picnic there.
Well, that's all the time we have for this week.
We spent a lot of time talking about picnics and the Fourth of July.
But don't forget the words you have learned.
They help you speak English every day.
We have some more great topics for you next week.
So please come back for our review show tomorrow.
And we'll see you next time here on...
Let's Talk in English.
Goodbye.
