教学设计方案 Lesson 90 Step 1  Revision   1 Check the homework exercises.   2 Get Ss to tell each other the story. Step 2  Presentation   SB Page 63, Part 1. Get Ss to talk about the picture and describe what they can see. Step 3  Reading for general understanding   SB Page 63, Part 1. Read aloud the two general comprehension questions. Allow the Ss enough time to read the text and write down their answers. Put them in pairs to discuss their answers, then check them with the class. (1 Lots of carvings and paintings on the sides of the cave. 2 The fire lit up the cave; they were alone; they had made an important discovery; they wanted to tell the whole world.) Step 4  Reading   Wb Lesson 90, Ex.1. Go through the exercise and make sure the Ss know what to do. Let them read the whole passage carefully and answer the questions, working in pairs or small groups. Check the answers with the whole class. Then do SB Page 64, Part 2. Let the Ss explain the phrases and sentences to each other, then check the meaning with the whole class. If the students express themselves clearly and satisfactorily, there is no need to give them the suggested answers below as though they are the only “correct” ones. Step 5  Reading aloud   Speech Cassette Lesson 90. Play the tape of the passage for the Ss to listen and follow. Play the tape of part of the passage once more; this time the Ss listen and repeat. Pay attention to stress and intonation, and the sentence stress of longer sentences. Step 6  Interview   SB Page 64, Part 3. Follow the same procedure as in the previous lesson, but make Ss prepare different roles. Read the instructions for this interview activity aloud. Divide the class in half. Half the class are going to play the role of the interviewer; they work in pairs to prepare questions. Half the class are going to play the role of one of the children; they work in pairs to prepare answers to the questions. After three minutes preparation, Ss move and find a partner for the interview. Encourage the Ss to invent any details as they wish.  Step 7  Workbook   Wb Lesson 90, Ex. 2.   Let the Ss go through the passage and try to do it in pairs. Then check the answers with the whole class.   Homework   Read the passage again.   Finish off the Workbook exercises. interview activity aloud. Divide the class in half. Half the class are going to play the role of the interviewer; they work in pairs to prepare questions. Half the class are going to play the role of one of the children; they work in pairs to prepare answers to the questions.
