Unit 8 Mainly revision 一、教学目标与要求 通过本单元教学,全面复习第 1至第 7单元所出现的日常交际用语项目, 重点复习有关命令和请求、语言困难、表示目的和发出通知的常用语句。复习第 1 至第 7单元所出现的语法项目,重点复习动词的时态、被动语态、直接引语和间 接引语、定语从句等有关用法。 二、复习要点 1.重点词汇 offer;discover;prepare;ship(vt.);help oneself to …; just now;doone’s best;all kinds of 2.重要句型 1) Corn is a useful plant that can be eaten by both people and animals.2)Corn was not the only food that was taken to Europe.3) It can be grown in places whereit is too cold to grow rice. 3.语法 复习定语从句的用法及第 1至第 7单元出现过的语法项目。 4.日常交际用语 就餐(Taking meals):1) Would you like another piece of beancurd?2)How about some more beef? 3)Just a little,please.4)No,thanks. I’ve had enough.5)I’m full,thank you.6)Help yourself to… 三、课型 (一)对话课 Ⅰ.教具 录音机,投影仪。 Ⅱ.课堂教学设计 1.教师可通过以下提问导入正课:1) What would you say if you want to ask your friendto eat/drink something?2) What would you say if you want to eat/drink something?3) Whatwould you say if you want your friend to eat/drink more? 4) What would you say if you arefull and don’t want to eat/drink more? 启发学生积极回答上述问题,教师对学生的答案予以适当纠正。 2.准备放对话录音,教师给出听前提问: Where are the students having dinner? 放对话录音一遍,请同学回答上述问题。 Key:They are at Li Jia’s house for dinner. 3.再放录音,组织学生三个人一组练习对话,数分钟后,请两组同学到前 面表演。 4.要求学生将该课对话改写为一篇短文。教师可给予必要的提示。 提示语:1) invite his friends for dinner;2) a good cook;cook a lot of delicious food; 3)want to learn from Li Jia;4)enjoy themselves a lot 将首句给出: One day Li Jia invited Jill and Bob to his house for dinner. 要求学生根据对话,参照老师所给提示及首句,编写短文。 Model: One day Li Jia invited Jill and Bob to his house for dinner. Li Jia was very good at cook-ing.He cooked a lot of delicious food for his friends.When Jill and Bob learned that Li Jiacooked the food himself, they were very surprised. And they also wanted very much to learnfrom Li Jia. Li Jia promised to teach them how to cook later. They had a wonderful dinnerand they enjoyed themselves a lot. Jill finally invited Li Jia to his house next time. 当堂要求学生完成,如时间允许,可请几位同学朗读自己的短文,教师予 以讲评。 5.布置作业 1)预习 30课;2)完成练习册中安排的练习。 (二)阅读理解课 Ⅰ.教具 录音机,投影仪。 Ⅱ.课堂教学设计 1.检查生词及短语。 2.教师通过以下提问导入正课: Every day we eat a lot of food, don’t we? Now I wantyou to tell me some of the food we eat.Each person should give me one kind of food we eatevery day. Now let’s start from this student. 让学生一人说一个单词,如时间允许,教师可板书学生所列出的词汇,然 后转入正课: OK.Just now we talked about the food we eat every day.Now let’s take a look at thefood around the world. 3.教师给出读前提问: 1) When was corn first brought to China? 2) Can you name someof the plants that were found in America? 教师给学生数分钟,要求学生快速阅读课文。之后请同学回答上述问题。 Key:1) Corn was first brought to China about 450 years ago.2) For example,beans,potatoes and other different fruits. 4.放课文录音,学生跟读一至两遍。教师就课文内容提问,检查学生的理 解程度(可参阅课本第 31页所列出的问题). 5.教师用投影仪打出以下 statements,要求学生判断其正误。并对错误的 statements进行修改。 1) Christopher Columbus and his friends discovered the plant“corn” in America in1492.2) Corn was brought to China in the 17th century. 3) Farmers had to move into thehills because the land along the Changjiang River was becoming very crowded.4) Farmersgrew corn in the hills because it is a plant that needed more water than rice.5) People allover the world eat corn in the same way. 6) In 1519 another traveller discovered tomato inEurope. 7) At first people in Europe often took tomatoes for apples. 8) Early European trav-ellers also took back the seeds of fruit trees that they had not seen before to their own coun-tries. Over 450 years ago I wasbrought to China.And in the 17th century I was grown a lot in Tibet and Sichuan because Idid not need as much water as rice. Today you can see me everywhere around the world.I can be prepared in many differentways. People living in the west prefer to boil and eat my fruits with salt and butter. Andpeople in many places often make my fruits into powder. Then they mix the powder with wa-ter and other things. In this way they can make many different kinds of food.So you see,people can not live without me. I am so proud. 4.布置作业 1)预习第 9单元;2)完成练习册中安排的练习。 四、难句分析 1. Would you like another piece of beancurd?你想再要一块豆腐吗? 许多表示食物名称的词都是不可数名词。例如: beancurd,coffee,ice- cream,corn,butter,cheese,pork,mutton,beef,chicken,milk,soup等。因 此,在表示它们的数量时,往往需要借助于另外一些名词。例如:a pieceof beancurd,a bowl of soup,two cups of coffee, three bottles of milk等等。在上述 词组中,表示数量的名词是可数名词,可以根据需要用单数或复数,表示食物 的名词是不可数名词,必须用单数。 2. In many parts of the world corn is made into powder.在世界上的许多地 方玉米被做成玉米粉。 make…into…是“把……制作成……”的意思。请看下面的例句,注意由 make组成的短语的意义和用法。 They make wood into paper in this factory.在这座工厂里人们把木料制成纸。 That cloth can be made into a dress.这块布料可以做一件连衣裙。 This kind of paper is made from wood.这种纸是用木料制成的。 This kite is made of silk.这个风筝是用绸子做的。 Our medical team was made up of two doctors and three nurses.我 们的医疗队由两名大夫、三名护士组成。
