Time:45'   Preparation:a tape-recorder   II.Lead-in:   T:What do you know about Abraham Lincoln?   S1:He was the 16th president of the United States.   S2:He broke the slavery.   T:What do you think of slavery?   S:It was unfair.   T:What do you know about the slaves in the United States?   S:They lived a terrible life.   T:What kind of work did they do?   S:All kinds of work.   T:Do you think the white considered the slaves as human beings?   S:No, they didn't   III.Presentation and listening practice:   T:Now let's hear a young man called John tell us something about himself. He used to be a slave.   (Ex.1 on P.139 and then check it up)   T:Listen again and answer the questions in Ex.2.   (after that, check it up)   T:Now we'll listen to Part 2 that is also said by John.   (Ex. 3 on P.139 and then check it up in class)   IV.Writing practice:   A.Lead-in:   (write the sentences on the Bb while the Ss are doing the listening practice)   Kentucky is the state.
