







Unit 17 Nature
一、教学目标与要求
通过本单元教学,使学生了解并初步掌握现在进行时被动语态的用法,并
运用到语言实践中,如会话、短文写作等。复习本单元出现的表示打算和目的的
用语。经过课文的学习,学生应能用所学语言描述糜鹿的今昔对比,从而使学生
了解保护野生动物的意义。完成练习册安排的练习。
二、教学重点与难点
1.重点词汇 increase;disappear;alive ;research; protect; put on
performances; atpresent; one after another
2.重要句型 1) How long will it take you to complete the trip? 2) We want
to givesome money to this project so that the number of these deer in China can be
increased. 3) Itis hoped that one day they will have enough animals to set them

3.语法 理解并初步掌握现在进行时被动语态的用法: 1) The life of the
milu is beingstudied at present. 2) More milu deer are being moved to a new large
nature park in Shishouin Hubei Province.

三、课型
(一)对话课
Ⅰ.教具 录音机,投影仪。
Ⅱ.课堂教学设计
1.教师通过以下步骤导入本课:
向学生提出下列问题: 1) Do you like travelling with your friends by bike?
2) What arethe advantages(good points) of travelling by bike? 3) Usually
what is the purpose of travel-ling? Now listen to the dialogue and find out why
they are making this journey.
2.准备放对话录音。借助投影片打出以下听前提问: 1) Why are they
making this jour-ney? 2) What will the money be used for?
放录音一至两遍,请学生回答上述问题,教师予以必要订正。
Key: 1) They are trying to collect money for a wildlife project. 2) The
money will beused for an important project of protecting milu deer.
根据本课对话内容,教师再提出一些问题,检查学生的理解程度。
1) Where are they going to travel? 2) How many of them are in this group?
3) Who arethey and where are they from? 4) How long will it take them to
complete the trip?
3.再次放对话录音,学生跟读。将学生分为两人一组练习对话。数分钟后,
请两、三组同学到前面表演。
经数分钟练习后,教师可请几位同学到前面进行表演,教师予以讲评。
教师指导学生归纳本课中有关提出打算和目的的常用语句(见日常交际用
语部分)。也可以为学生设计一些活动,启发同学运用这部分语言编写对话。
情景 1: Someone is going to make a trip to his hometown. Ask him what he
plans to dothere; how and when he is leaving and what time he wants to come
back.
情景 2: Group 4 students plan to sell morning newspapers during their summer
holi-days. Ask them when they will start doing so and the purpose of doing so.
Also ask themwhat they will do with the money they earn. And what they will do if
they won’t be able toearn money.
经数分钟练习后,教师可请几组同学到前面进行表演,教师予以讲评。也可
鼓励学生自己用其他情节编写对话。
4.要求学生将该课对话改写为一篇短文。教师可给予必要的提示。
提示语:1)make a trip to London ; 2)introduce the four of them; 3)how
long their jour-ney is;4) the purpose of their journey
教师给出首句: Gary and his friends are going to make a trip to London from
Beijing.
要求学生根据对话,参照老师所给提示及首句,编写短文。
Model:
Gary and his friends are going to make a trip to London from Beijing. They are
goingthere by bicycle.There are four of them:Gary,from Britain;Sun
Huilin,from China;Pe-ter,from Australia and Lynn, from Greece.Their trip
will be quite long,about 20 000 kilo-metres. They want to collect some money
for a wildlife project. The project is about themilu deer. They want to give some
money to this project so that the number of these deer inChina can be increased.
当堂要求学生完成,如时间允许,可请几位同学朗读自己的短文,教师予
以讲评。
5.布置作业 1)预习第 66课;2)完成练习册中安排的练习。

1.检查生词及短语。

3.教师给出读前提问: 1) At what time did the milu deer disappear? 2)

教师给学生数分钟,要求学生快速阅读课文。之后请同学回答上述问题。

4.放课文录音,学生跟读一至两遍。教师就课文内容提问,检查学生的理

5.教师用投影仪打出以下 statements,要求学生判断其正误。并对错误的
statements进行修改。

四、难句分析
1.We are trying to collect money for a wildlife project.我们正在努力为一项
野生动物保护计划筹集资金。
“to collect money for”意思是“为……筹集资金/募捐”。例如:
They are trying to collect money for the new stadium.他们正在为修建新的体
育馆募捐。
“筹集资金”除了用“collect money”外,还可以用“to raise money”。例
如:
His wife raised the money for his research by selling her jewellery.他的妻子卖
掉了首饰为他的研究工作筹集资金。
2.There is very important Chinese deer called the milu deer.有一种非常重要
的中国鹿,叫麋鹿。
1)“deer”泛指鹿科动物,它的单复数同形。动物中单复数同形的词还有
“sheep”和“fish”,但“fish”有时也有复数形式,特别是指鱼的种类时。例
如:
There are fishes of many colours and sizes.有许多颜色不同、大小各异的鱼。
2)“called the milu deer”是一个过去分词短语,作定语,相当于一个定语
从句(… whichis called the milu deer),修饰先行词“Chinese deer”。例如:
In London there was a terrible disease called the plague.在伦敦曾经发生过一
种叫“黑死病”的可怕疾病。
In the middle of the picture there is a white building called the White House.在
图片中央有一个叫白宫的白色建筑物。
3. At present there are not many milu deer in nature parks in China, but the
number isincreasins every year.目前中国的天然公园里还没有很多麋鹿,但数量
却在逐年上升。
“increase”的意思是“增加”,可作及物动词,也可以作不及物动词。例
如:
Our difficulties are increasing.(vi.)我们的困难在增加。
The population has greatly increased these years.(vi.)这些年来人口大大
增加了。
Travel increases one’s knowledge of the world.(vt.)旅行使人加深对世
界的了解。
He increased the size of his farm year by year. (vt.)他一年一年地扩大他
的农场面积。
“increase”还可以作名词用。
注意:作动词时,重音在第二音节上,而作名词时重音在第一音节。例如:
The increase of population will cause social problems.人口的增加将会引起种
种社会问题。
Crime in our big cities is on the increase.大城市中犯罪率在增长。
4. Until recently, the only milu deer alive in the world belonged to the Duke
of Bedfordin England.直到不久以前,世界上仅有的活着的麋鹿是属于英国贝
德福德公爵所有。
“alive”是表语形容词,作“活着的”、“在世的”解。通常用作表语,当
其作定语时,则要放在所修饰的名词后。例如:
The only man alive is called Jack Smith.唯一活着的人名叫 Jack Smith。
That fish is still alive.那条鱼仍然活着。
The soldier was badly wounded in the head, but still alive.那位士兵头部受
了重伤,但还活着。
作定语表示“活着的”的形容词是“living”,可以前置,如我们可以说:
The only living man is called Jack Smith.唯一生存的人叫 Jack Smith。
She is considered to be the best living physicist in France.她被认为是法国目
前还活着的最好的物理学家。
类似的表语形容词还有: afraid(害怕的),alone(单独的), asleep(睡
着的)等。
5.Since then the number of milu deer there has greatly increased.从那以后,
那里的麋鹿数量已经大大增加了。
句中的“numuer”作“数量/数目”解。
注意:“the number of…”和“a number of…”的区别。前者作“……的数
目”解,后者作“好些/许多”解。比较下面两个句子。
The number of books in our library is about 30 000.我们图书馆的藏书数大约
为三万册。
A number of books in our library are missing.我们图书馆有好些书籍遗失了。
6.…it is hoped that one day they will have enough animals to set them free…
人们希望有一天他们会有足够多的麋鹿可以放出去……
“… it is hoped that…”中的 it是形式主语,真正的主语是后面的 that引导
的从句。例如:
It is hoped that the subway will have been completed by the end of this year.人
们希望地铁将在今年年底以前完工。
It is hoped that they will arrive at the village before dark.人们希望他们在天黑
前到达村庄。
类似的结构还有:It is said that…据说……;It is believed that…据信……;
It is re-ported that…据报道……
7.现在进行时的被动语态。
现在进行时的被动语态表示“某事/人此时此刻正在被……”的意思,其
构成形式是: am/is/ are+ being+过去分词。例如:
Trees are being planted everywhere in our city.在我们城市现在到处都在种树。
I am being treated at the Red Cross Hospital.我正在红十字医院接受治疗。
Workers are being sent to rebuild the bridge.正在派工人去重建这座桥。
The project is being discussed at the meeting.这项计划正在会上讨论。
