一、交际用语
1.I wish you every success in the future.
祝你万事如意。
Wish+you+N表示“祝愿”的意思,常用于正式场合。例如:
I wish you a merry Christmas/all the best.
祝你圣诞快乐(事事如意)。
也可用wish+you+Adj来表示“祝愿”。
I wish you lucky /luck .祝你好运。
口语中常用 hope+that从句表示“祝愿”。如
I hope(that)you’ll get well soon.
祝你早日康复。
2.I’d like to congratulate you on your good work in the these two
yesrs.
你这两年来学习很好,我表示祝贺。
句中 congratulate是动词,表示“祝贺”,常和 on 连用,表示“就某事向
某人祝贺”。例如:
I warmly congratulate you on the new dis-covery.我热烈祝贺你的新发现。
We congratulate him on having passed the exam.我们祝贺他通过了考试。
日常交际中也常用 congratulations来表示“祝贺”。
Congratulations to you on your successful performance.对你们的成功演出,
表示热烈的祝贺。
二、单词和词组
1.do well( in…)
do well表示“工作得好,学习成绩好,进行得好,身体(恢复得)好”的
意思。例如:
She’s working in a family.She’s doing well.
He did very well in the examinations.
The patient is doing quite well.
2. invite sb.to
invite sb.后常直接跟介词 to,表示“邀请某人去某地(参加活动)”。例
如:
Mr Smith invited us to dinner.
He invited several of his friends to the show.
学习中应注意区分 invite sb.to do的复合结构。例如:
We invited Helen to join our club.
3.the three of us
the three of us表示“我们仨”,us中的人数只有三人;three of us表示“我
们中的三人”,us中的人数不止三人。
三、句型
1.I’m leaving on Sunday.
我星期天离开(动身)。
句中的现在进行时,表示按计划或安排即将发生的事,其中动词多半是表
示位移的动词。如:arrive,come,drive,fly,go,leave,start,travel等,此外
如 do,have,spend,play,stay等也可这样使用。例如:
Our guests are arriving tonight.
我们的客人将于今晚到达。
We’re probably spending next weekend at home.下个周末我们很可能在家
里过。

1.中心思想
This text mainly tells about an excellent pi-anist who is making great efforts to
start a school for children with disabilities.He is giving a lot of concerts,trying to

offers to help the pianist set up such a school.
2.段落大意
The:Whole text is divided into three parts:
Part 1
Mr brain learns why Zheng Jie is giving a lot of concerts and shows interest in

1.get tired of
动词 tire除了表示“使疲倦”外,常用来表示“使厌烦”的意思,作及物
动词。例如:
He tired me with his long speeches.
他冗长的讲话使我厌烦。
tire常作过去分词,构成词组 get tired of,be tired of,表示“对……厌烦”。
例如:
You’ll soon get very tired of me.

4.owe
owe用作及物动词,表示“欠(钱),欠(某人的)人情债”。例如:
She owed Mrs Smith a pound or two.

We owe a great deal to our parents and teachers.我们该大大感激我们的父母

owe还常直接表示“……应归功于,……都亏得”。例如:

5.play a trick on
此词组意为“开……的玩笑,捉弄,耍弄计谋”。例如:
Let’s play a trick on her,shall we?
我们开她个玩笑,好吗?
Don’t play tricks on me—I want to know the truth.别对我耍花招,我要知
道事实真相。
类似的短语还有 play a joke on,“开某人的玩笑”。例如:
The boys played a joke on James.They hid his shoes and he couldn’t find

6.help…out
help…out作“帮忙(做某事,克服困难等)”解。例如:

I’ve often helped Bob out when he’s been a bit short of money .鲍勃手头

He came in time and helped me out of trou-ble.他及时赶到并帮我摆脱了困

7.tear
本课的 tear[t#+]作“撕破,撕开”解,有别于以前学过的同形异义、异音词
tear[ti+]“眼泪,泪水”,学习时应注意区分。例如:
He tore a leaf out of his notebook.
他从笔记本上撕下了一页。
She tore that photo into pieces.
她将那照片撕成碎片。
As soon as she saw me,she burst into tears.她一看到我,就哭了起来。
三、句型
1.I insist on telling him how great you were.
我一定要告诉他你多么了不起。
insist作“一定要,坚持要求”解,常和 on或 upon连用,构成 insist on
sth./doing sth.结构。例如:
They insisted on an immediate reply.
他们坚持要求立即答复。
He insisted on being sent to work in Tibet.
他坚持要求被派往西藏工作。
He insisted on her staying in Paris.
他坚持要求她呆在巴黎。
insist后可跟 that引导的从句,一是表示“坚持某种意见”,二是表示“坚
决要求”。此时从句中的谓语动词常用虚拟语气,即用 should +动词原形,其中
should常可省去。例如:
She insisted she heard somebody in the room.她坚持说她听到这房间里有人。
He insisted that I( should)call for help.
他坚决要我请求帮助。
He insisted that she stay in Paris.

drink to…是祝酒时的用语,表示“为……干杯、祝酒”的意思,常用在比

Milk was one of the main human foods long before history was written.It will
probably remain one as long as there are animals that give milk.
The old word“milk”came from Sanskrit,one of the oldest languages known
