Welcome back, friends.
It's that part of our show.
It's time to play a game.
And this game today is called Two...
In One.
That's right.
I will say a sentence that has two key words in it.
You have to tell me which words I used.
Are you ready?
Let's go.
Here is my sentence.
A dinosaur is an ancient creature that lived many years ago.
A dinosaur is an ancient creature that lived many years ago.
It seems like a hard sentence.
But I know we talked about dinosaurs.
And "ancient" is a pretty hard word.
I think those are the two key words in the sentence.
You're right, Nathan.
The two key words were "dinosaur" and "ancient." Good job.
And I'm sure you're right, too, friends.
Let's review today's conversations right now.
(Music).
Nice report on the new history museum exhibit, Susie.
Thanks.
Go to it. It's great.
I'll go to it.
I like museums.
What kinds of museums?
Well, I like art museums and history museums.
I like natural history museums.
Many of them have exhibits on dinosaurs.
So you like dinosaurs?
Yes. And I like to learn about animals and plants.
When I travel, I always visit local museums.
That's fun.
There are some strange museums.
I know!
I'm interested in strange things!
What's the strangest museum you visited?
The Museum of Bad Art in Boston.
There is a museum of bad art?
Yes! And the exhibits are really bad.
I laughed at a lot of them.
You're supposed to.
They're bad!
I like to visit famous museums, too.
Like the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City?
Yes. When I go to New York, I always go there.
That's a great museum.
I like all the ancient art there.
That's good.
Why?
Because there are more than two million things in that museum.
You'll be ancient before you see them all!
Monkey Man, do you like museums?
I love museums.
What kind of museums do you like?
I like art museums.
Oh, you like art museums.
Yes. But I also like history museums.
Oh, you like history museums.
Yeah. And I really, really like natural history museums.
Do you like dinosaurs?
Yeah, they're so big!
And so ancient.
Hmm.
Ginger, what kind of museums do you like?
I like uh, monkey museums.
Monkey museums.
Yeah. Can we go to the monkey museum?
OK, let's go to the bad monkey museum.
The bad monkey museum?
Yes. And you can stay there!
Very funny, Monkey Man.
Bad monkey.
No.
Hello.
(Chinese).
eREPORT.
Hi, everyone.
It's Anna with eREPORT.
It is so hot today.
What do you like to do when it's hot?
I like to go to the beach.
I can put my feet in the water.
I can sit on the sand.
I can really cool off.
I'm here today with my girls at the beach.
Why don't you come with us?
A beach is the area near water.
There are big beaches near oceans or seas.
But there are also beaches near rivers and lakes.
A beach is usually sand or small rocks.
People go to the beach to relax and have fun.
They swim in the water and play on the beach.
People can play games on the beach, like Frisbee.
Children like to play in the sand.
They dig in the sand or build sand castles.
On an ocean beach, people like to walk along the beach and look for seashells.
Some people walk on the beach and look for wood.
Wood that has floated in the ocean can have interesting shapes.
People usually take a blanket to the beach.
They put that on the sand.
Then they can sit on it.
People also bring food and drinks to the beach.
People get hungry playing all day.
When it's time to go home, everyone is tired.
Be sure to take everything with you.
And pick up all your trash.
You want the beach to be nice for the next people, too.
Ooh! Boy, I'm tired!
I had a great day at the beach.
So did my girls.
We walked in the water.
We played in the sand.
We ate some great food.
And now it's time to go home.
I hope we get to get back to the beach again soon.
Until then, this is Anna reporting for eREPORT at the beach.
Calendar Phrase.
I like dinosaurs.
I like dinosaurs.
(Chinese).
I'm a dinosaur.
Yeah. I like dinosaurs.
I am very small.
I like dinosaurs.
I am very cute.
I like dinosaurs.
And I am lots of fun.
I like dinosaurs.
I'm just a baby dinosaur.
That's the best kind.
Yeah.
I like dinosaurs.
I like dinosaurs.
(Chinese).
We found out many more great things about museums and interesting facts about
plants and dinosaurs today.
I like learning about dinosaurs.
I am interested in them some because they are cool creatures.
But Katie loves dinosaurs.
She's very interested in them.
But Katie, of all the museums we learned about today, which are you most
interested in?
Well, I think I am interested in visiting the Museum of Bad Art that Susie
talked about.
It sounds like such a strange museum.
And you know, sometimes I do like strange things.
I would like to go there.
Well friends, we hope that you enjoyed today's lesson.
Tell a friend about something you learned today.
But be sure and come back tomorrow and join us again here on...
Let's Talk in English.
Goodbye.
Go find a museum.
(Music).
