Let's practice some of our key words by playing Two in...
One.
This is the part of our show where we put two key words into one sentence.
Hmm, it's my turn to think of a sentence.
Here it is.
The king had a pet mouse named Daniel.
Hmm, you used "king" and "mouse." That's strange.
Why would a king have a pet mouse?
Well, as we learned today, there are many strange children's stories.
But I think it was a good sentence.
It was a very good sentence.
Now let's review all of today's conversations together.
Here we go.
Hey, Susie, what kind of books do you have?
I have some children's books.
The TV station might start a new children's program!
Great! Are you helping with it?
Yes. I can get ideas from these books.
This book is about a snake and a mouse.
They are best friends.
Really? Don't snakes eat mice?
They don't in this book!
Look at this other book!
I love this one!
My parents read it to me many times.
Yes, that one is a classic!
Children's books are so fun.
I know.
Look at this other book.
It's about a strange king.
Why is he strange?
He lives under a bridge!
Why does he live under a bridge?
Read the book and find out!
Can the children's program be about dragons?
I don't know. Maybe!
Can it be about cowboys?
Cowboys are fun.
I like cowboys, too!
Who is planning the children's program with you?
Oh, I'm not planning it.
You're just giving Carol some ideas?
Right. And I have a lot of ideas!
You do!
Ginger, why are you so happy?
Oh, I like children's programs.
Yes. Me, too.
Children's programs are fun.
But hey, you're not a kid!
Well, that's true.
But I like children's TV.
And sometimes I read children's books, too.
No! You read books for kids?
Sometimes.
I like stories about kings and dragons and...
Cowboys and monkeys?
Uh... well, yes.
Will you read a book for me?
All right.
Now I'm curious, Ginger.
What's your favorite book?
Curious George.
George is a monkey.
Ah, yes, Curious George.
He's a monkey, just like you, Ginger.
Curious Ginger.
Hello.
(Chinese).
Calendar Phrase.
That one is a classic.

It's time to Answer It!
Here is question number one.
What does Susie have a lot of?
What does Susie have a lot of?
The answer is in Conversation C.
She has a lot of ideas.
All right, question number two.
What kind of books do you read? Why?
What kind of books do you read? Why?
Let's ask some of our friends.
I enjoy reading love stories - love stories with happy endings, where the mother
and the father are happy and the children are happy.
And I like to cry sometimes, too, if something sad happens.
But at the end, I know it's going to be wonderful.
Love stories is what I like to read.
I like to read books about history.
History books talk about events that happened long ago, like Chinese history or
world history.
I especially like to read about American history.
American history talks about the birth of the United States of America and the
first president, George Washington.
I also like to read books about travel.
Travel books tell you about the wonderful places in the world that we can visit.
And maybe if you're too busy, they can take you there without leaving the
comforts of your home.
What kind of books do I like?
Lots of kinds.
I like romance, action, adventure, comedy...
Sometimes I go to book websites and look at reviews.
If a book has many good reviews, I want to read it.
I also listen to what my friends say.
If my friends tell me a book is really, really good, I read that one, too.
That way, I know that I'm always reading the best books.
What kind of books does the Monkey Man like to read?
Well, I like to read history books.
You know, history books give us the bridge between the past and the present.
And they also give us a pretty good idea of what we can expect in the future.
Most people think history is boring.
It's about dates, right?
But if you really think about it, history is about people.
It's about you and me.
Well, those were some great answers.
Be sure to practice asking and answering these questions today.
And then join us again tomorrow as we keep learning about A Program for Kids.
We'll see you then here on...
Let's Talk in English.
Goodbye.
See you.
