Welcome back, friends.
I'm Gabe.
And I'm Ginger.
And guess what we are going to play right now.
That's right...
Guess the Calendar Phrase?
Well, yes. That was a good guess, Ginger.
You guessed it right.
The game is Guess the Calendar Phrase.
So we are thinking of a calendar phrase from this month.
And we will say it one word at a time.
But the words are not in the right order.
OK, here is word number one.
A.
Ooh. A, break.
Ooh. A, break, quick.
A, break, quick, take.
A, break, quick, take.
What should that calendar phrase really be?
Take a quick break.
Take a quick break.
That's right.
Well, it's not time to take a break right now.
It's time for me to take back my banana.
Thank you, Ginger.
Hey!
I'm just kidding.
It's time for us to enjoy our features from this week.
OK.
Hello! I'm Black Pearl.
And I'm here with DJ Prince.
And we have a special guest today - Santa Claus.
You're a pretty skinny Santa Claus.
Oh.
He's really teacher Gabe.
Now it's time for a game of Sing and Say.
Sing and Say.
Yes.
How do we play?
Well...
When you hear me sing and say.
You try to sound the same.
Say these words again today.
That's how you play the game.
Sing and Say.
poor. Sing it.
poor.
Evan's family is poor. Sing it.
Evan's family is poor.
Christmas. Say it.
Christmas.
Christmas. Sing it.
Christmas.
Tomorrow is Christmas Day. Sing it.
Tomorrow is Christmas Day.
toy. Say it.
toy.
Kids play with toys. Say it.
Kids play with toys.
Yeah.
Kids play with toys. Sing.
Kids play with toys.
This doll is for Molly. Say it.
This doll is for Molly.
This doll is for Molly. Sing.
This doll is for Molly.
wish. Say it.
wish.
What's your birthday wish? Say it.
What's your birthday wish?
Sing and Say!
I want to play Sing and Say.
Merry Christmas.
(Music).
Hi, everyone. I'm Jim.
And I'm Tim. We're...
The Word Brothers.
We are similar.
But very different.
Yes, just like some English words.
Right. For example, desert, D-E-S-E-R-T.
And dessert, D-E-S-S-E-R-T.
These two words look similar.
But they are very different.
A desert, D-E-S-E-R-T, is a very dry place.
There's not much water in the desert.
It doesn't rain much there.
Deserts are very hot during the day, and can be very... cold at night.
Right.
Many people confuse the word "desert" with the word "dessert," D-E-S-S-E-R-T.
That's right.
People forget which word has one S, and which word has two S's.
Dessert, D-E-S-S-E-R-T, is something you eat at the end of a meal.
A dessert is usually sweet.
Cake, pie, and ice cream are all kinds of desserts.
So how can you remember the difference between "desert" and "dessert"?
Which word has more S's: "dessert" or "desert"?
Well, "dessert" has two S's; "desert" has one S.
There are more S's in "dessert".
Right.
Now, would you want more desserts or more deserts?
I want more desserts, of course.
Right.
So "desserts" is the word with more S's.
Ah, I understand. Do you?
Good.
All right, friends, desert.
And dessert.
Can you see the difference?
Good. Until next time, this is Tim.
And Jim, saying...
Goodbye.
