Lights.
Camera.
Let's Talk in English.
Hey, everybody, welcome to LTE TV.
My name is Gabe.
And my name is Andrea.
We are all different kinds of people.
Yeah.
Aren't we, Gabe?
Yeah, we're very different.
Well yes, we are very different.
All of you are very different.
And it's good to learn about different kinds of people.
Well, that is the title of today's lesson - Different Kinds of People.
Some people are handsome.
Some people are hardworking and kind.
Well, some people are funny.
They make you laugh.
And some people are smart.
Or some people are all of these things.
Well, I just used all of today's key words.
And we will see them again in our conversations.
So let's begin our lesson.
Hi, Rob! What are you doing?
I'm looking at the TV station's website.
The poll is online now!
Oh! That's right.
The station does a poll every year.
Right. We ask our viewers about our programs.
Do our viewers like our programs?
Do they like us?
Do they say, "Rob is so handsome"?
Let's look at their answers!
Well, the poll is online now.
Yes, Susie and Rob are looking at the TV station's website.
Well, this is always an interesting time of year for our TV station.
Gabe, tell us about a poll.
OK, I will say that a poll is when people vote on something, or when they say
what they like about something or what they don't like about something.
And often websites or TV channels will have a poll to see what people like about
the website or the TV channel.
So poll gives viewers a chance to share how they feel.
The viewers of a show are the people who are watching.
Well, we thank all of you who are watching on TV or online for being our
viewers.
We are very thankful for all of our viewers.
Well, we are thankful for our viewers.
But I think many also listen to the radio.
We're thankful for our listeners as well.
Well, if people listen on the radio, that's great.
But then they can't see how handsome you are, Gabe.
All right, Andrea, stop, stop.
OK, oh, I'll stop.
Well, but no, keep going and talk about this key word.
Oh, right! Yes, it is important.
handsome.
Now if someone is handsome, they're very good-looking.
Now you can use this word to talk about many things.
But we usually talk about it as a way to describe a man who looks good.
Well, a man who looks good.
Hi, everyone.
Uh, we're going to continue learning with Rob because he's a handsome guy.
Let's see what Rob and Susie have for us in Conversation B.
What is the first question on this year's poll?
"What's your favorite program on LTE TV? Why?".
I can answer that. Let's Talk!
Because you're very hard-working, Rob!
You're so kind.
But this poll is for our viewers.
I know. So what do people think?
Let me see.
Here's a very nice answer.
It's about you!
Well friends, before we see that nice answer about Susie in our next
conversation, I think Susie said something very nice about Rob.
She said that he is very hard-working.
This is a good key word.
I'm sure it describes you, too, friends.
If you are hard-working, that means you work hard.
You know that working is very important.
You're not lazy.
You are hard-working.
Yes. So if you have a job, it's good to be hard-working, to do your job very
well.
And sometimes you do more than you are just asked to do.
I know that many of you are students.
And students are also very hard-working.
You study a lot.
You finish your projects.
You do your homework.
If you are a hard-working student, then keep up the good job.
Well, yes.
And Susie thinks that Rob is very hard-working.
She says, "I can answer that" because the question was: What's your favorite
program on LTE TV, and why?
I can answer that.
It must be Let's Talk!
Because Rob is hard-working.
I can answer that.
If your teacher asks a question, and it seems like everyone should know the
answer, you can say: I can answer that.
I can answer that.
Maybe someone asks: Do you know where Gabe is?
I can answer that.
He's right here. He's right here. Hi, everybody.
Hi, Gabe. OK.
Yeah. Andrea, do you know where the mall is?
I can answer that.
Yes, the mall is on South Street.
It's about 5 minutes from here.
OK, I'll go there later.
But for now, let's look at this next key word.
It is "kind." Are you a kind person?
Do you say nice things to other people?
Do you do nice things for them?
Are you polite?
Well, you are kind.
Yes. And when someone says something nice about you, a nice way to respond is by
saying:
Oh. Well, you're so kind.
You're so kind. Thank you.
Gabe, I know I often say this.
But you are a great co-teacher.
You're very hard-working.
And well, you're handsome, too.
You're a great guy.
Oh! Andrea, you're right about that.
I mean, you're so kind. Thank you, Andrea.
Well friends, let's continue with Conversation C.
A nice answer about me!
What is it?
"Susie reports the news very well.
She's very funny, too!".
How kind.
Are there any answers about you, Rob?
Yes!
"Rob is very smart.
I learn a lot from him.
I enjoy his program.".
People really enjoy our work.
I know! I feel good!
Wow! What a great answer about Susie!
"Susie reports the news very well. She's very funny." I like that.
Well, our key word here is "funny." Now if something is funny, it makes you
laugh.
If a person is funny, that person... that person makes you laugh.
Andrea, you... you're laughing already.
Are you thinking about something funny?
I guess, you know, teaching the word "funny" just makes me think about funny
things.
OK, that's great. Keep laughing, Andrea.
Here is my very funny joke, OK?
OK.
Here's my joke.
It's a question.
OK.
What did the farmer say when his cows came home?
I don't know.
What... what did the farmer say when his cows came home?
He said, he said, "Look! My cows came home." That... that's funny.
Gabe, that's not funny.
That's a good joke.
No, that's... that's not funny.
That's not funny at all.
Oh.
That's not a funny... joke.
That's not even smart.
Well, we... we have another key word...
We do.
...here.
And the... the word is: smart.
Um... Yeah, if you're smart, then... then you know a lot of things.
You know how to do lots of things, like tell funny jokes.
And someone who is smart knows a lot about many different kinds of things.
Hmm, Gabe, can you think of someone who is very smart?
Gabe can think of someone who is very smart.
Ginger. Ginger is smart.
Oh, Ginger is smart. And she's funny.
And she's funny.
And the Monkey Man is smart and funny-looking.
Well, that's true.
Let's go learn something with them right now.
Yes.
Ginger, why are you so happy today?
Well, I'm happy. I'm pretty, too.
Pretty? What do you mean?
Didn't you read the poll?
What poll?
The station did a poll online.
They ask viewers about the program.
Oh. And what did the viewers say?
They said: Ginger is pretty.
Ginger is smart.
Ginger is nice.
That is great.
The viewers really like you.
Ginger is clever.
Well Ginger, what did the viewers say about me?
Oh, let's me look.
Oh, here's one.
Mmhm. What does it say?
It says: I really like Monkey Man.
Yeah, because?
Because he has a cute monkey.
Ginger is wonderful.
And Ginger is sweet.
Is that all it says?
Yeah.
Please join my handsome co-teacher Gabe and I as we review our key words. Thank
you.
Our first key word is: handsome.
handsome.
Here is a picture of my favorite actor.
Isn't he handsome?
Hi.
hard-working.
hard-working.
Patricia is very hard-working.
She's very good at her job.
kind.
kind.
Sunny is a kind person.
Everyone loves her.
funny.
funny.
People always laugh at Gabe.
He's so funny!
Oh, yes.
smart.
smart.
Thomas is very smart.
He is good at math and science.
Well, you are also very smart.
You did a good job with those key words.
Now it's time to take abreak.
