Let's Talk in English.
Hi, everyone, and welcome to LTE TV.
My name is Andrea.
And my name is Gabe.
Thank you for joining us here today.
We have some important tips that we want to share with you.
You will learn some good tips for sharing about your travels.
Wait a minute.
Yesterday you saw travel as a verb.
And now travel is a noun.
Well, that is one of our key words.
"Tip" is another key word.
We have more key words today - many things to talk about.
Pay attention because they are some very good tips.
Right now open up your magazine and let's get started.
(Music).
Hello, everyone.
Welcome to Let's Talk.
Do you like to travel?
Well, our guest for today is here to give us some tips on how to share our
travels with others.
Let's welcome him.
Welcome to our show, Mr. Travel!
Thanks, Rob.
Today we're talking about sharing our travels with others.
Can you give us some tips?
Sure! On your travels, take lots of pictures.
But only show the best ones to others.
Right.
Not many people want to see every picture you took.
Yes.
Most people just want a short report.
Gabe, can you give us a short report on what happened in Conversation A?
Well, of course, Andrea.
A short report:
Rob is talking to Mr. Travel about traveling.
I see.
Yeah.
So they are talking about travels.
And what are travels, Gabe?
Travels.
Well, Andrea and friends, travel is one of today's key words.
Usually you see this word as a verb.
We are traveling somewhere.
But today, it is a noun.
Rob says, "Today we're talking about sharing our travels with others." So your
travels are the times that you go traveling somewhere.
So Mr. Travel is sharing some travel tips with us.
Yes, some travel tips.
Well, let's look at that next key word, tip.
Now here a tip means something that you tell someone to help them.
So when you travel, when you are on your travels, it's always nice to hear some
tips before you go.
These tips can help make your travels even better.
If you know a lot about something, then you can teach it to others.
You can share some tips with other people.
That's how you can use this word.
You can say, "Please share some tips with me." Share some tips with us about
something.
Or if you have some tips to share, you can say, "Let me give you a tip." Let me
give you a tip, or here's a tip.
Now here's a tip.
Listen carefully as we talk about our next key word.
That's right.
This next key word is report.
Now if you share a report, that means you are telling people about something
that you experienced or that you studied.
You are giving a report.
And when you give a report, you don't share everything. You share what is most
important.
Well, we have more important things to learn in Conversation B.
(Music).
What about travel blog sites?
Those are great places to talk about your travels.
But choose a good one.
What makes a good travel blog site?
One that lets you upload lots of photos.
And one where you can mark your trips on a map?
Yes. And be sure it's easy to use!
Then you can have fun sharing your travels with everyone!
(Music).
Traveling is fun.
And it's also fun to share about your travels with other people.
Well, in Conversation B, we get some tips about travel blogs.
Now these are sites that you can share about your travels.
And Mr. Travel tells us that you should find one that lets you upload lots of
photos.
Hmm, upload.
That's a key word.
Now when you upload something, you put it somewhere so other people can see it.
We usually use this verb "upload" when you're talking about uploading something
on a computer or uploading it onto a website.
So maybe you took lots of pictures with your camera and you want other people to
see these pictures.
Other people can go online to see your pictures if you upload the pictures to
the Internet.
So usually we say, "I'm uploading something to the Internet.".
And if somebody says that, you know that you can see what they are uploading
soon.
Yes, you can upload pictures, or another word for pictures is photo.
That's our key word.
A photo is something that you take.
You take a photo or you take a picture, and then you can upload it and share it
with others.
So photo or picture.
Actually these words usually mean the same thing.
I took a picture or I took a photo.
Hey, look at some of the photos I took during my trip.
Another tip that Mr. Travel gives is to find a travel blog that lets you mark
your trips on a map.
Now I want you to mark this key word.
We're going to talk about it.
When you mark something, you do something to make people see it.
If there's a piece of paper with many names on it, you can mark your name to
show that you are there.
When you mark your travels on a map, you mark the cities or the countries that
you visited.
But don't mark where you shouldn't mark.
My dad's name is Mark, and when he was a child, his nickname was Mark on the
Wall Harbour,
because he would take a marker and mark on the wall.
Don't mark on the wall.
Right. But you can mark your travels on a map.
And we can learn more with our Read It!
(Music).
How can you tell others about your travels?
Travel blog sites can help you.
You can give your travel report and travel tips on them.
There are a lot of travel blog sites.
Choose one that lets you upload lots of photos to it.
You want one that lets you mark your trips on a map, too.
Most of all, be sure the blog site is easy to use!
Well, we're learning about travel tips, or sharing travel tips.
Now friends, we have some tips to help you.
Many people ask Andrea and me: How can I improve my English?
Well, friends, we have some tips for you.
One tip that I have for you is to read more English books, or read more English
articles.
Another tip is to have fun; enjoy learning.
Nobody wants to do something that they don't like.
So make English fun.
Do things in English that you enjoy, like sing an English song.
That's great.
You can sing an English song.
That's a good tip.
Another tip is to listen to English songs.
That way you can remember the words, and your English will improve.
Well, we see a phrase here: most of all.
That means the most important thing to remember.
OK, friends, here is our tip.
Most of all, use what you know.
Practice it every day.
Yes, most of all, use what you know.
Practice English every day.
We think that's the most important tip.
Now here's another tip:
Listen carefully and learn with Ginger and the Monkey Man.
(Background Noise).
I'm traveling around the world.
Ha, ha, but you need money to travel, Ginger.
No, I don't.
I just need a computer.
Well, you're traveling on the computer.
Yeah.
I'm looking at travel blogs.
People share their travels.
Hmm... that's a good way to see the world.
Yeah, now I'm traveling in Paris with Patty.
Oh, oh, look! All the photos that they have!
And now I'm traveling in London with Larry.
Hmm, that's pretty colorful.
And now I'm traveling in Rome with Ronnie.
Well, Ginger, that's a good way to travel.
I think I would like to travel like that someday.
OK. Let me see your tickets and your passport, please.
Ticket and passport.
Yeah.
Hey, hey, hey, friends, let's review our key words.
The first one is travel.
travel.
John told us about his travels to America.

Give me some tips on how to save money.

Sarah gave a report at the office.
upload.
upoad.
Did you upload that picture to your blog?

Helen showed me lots of photos of her children.

Please mark your name on the list.
Now it's time for us to take a break.
