Let's Talk in English.
Hello, friends, and welcome to LTE TV.
It is the last day of November, which is sad.
But we are happy to be here with you.
My name is Gabe.
And my name is Andrea.
Now yesterday we talked about stuff.
We talked about giving stuff away.
We talked about organizing things.
Well, today we will continue talking about that with our lesson, Organize Your
Home.
One way to organize your home is to give things away.
Well, we're going to try to learn some tips from today's lesson.
We also have key words for you.
So please open your magazine.
You'll see all of our key words there.
And you'll hear them in our conversations and our Read It.
So let's begin with Conversation A.
Hello, everyone. Welcome to Let's Talk!
On today's show, you'll learn how to organize your home!
Let's welcome Nancy Neat.
Thank you, Rob. I'm glad to be here.
So tell us, Nancy, how can we keep our closets or wardrobes neat?
My advice is, "If you haven't worn it in a year, give it away.".
Really? What if the clothes still fit?
If you don't wear them, why keep them?
That's a good thought.
I like this.
If you haven't worn it in a year, give it away.
That's a great way to organize your wardrobe.
Our key word is "organize." When you organize something, you put everything in
its place.
When you organize things, they are neat.
And I do like to organize things in my room.
I like to organize things at my desk at the office, too.
I like to put things in the right places.
Everything in its place and everything has a place.
How did that go yesterday, Andrea?
A place for everything and...
Everything in its place.
That's right. A place for everything, and everything in its place.
You are organized.
That's right. It's good to organize things so they are not messy.
You want to be neat.
And of course, you can organize your wardrobe.
"Wardrobe" is a key word.
A wardrobe is like a closet.
It's a place where you can keep your clothes and other things.
But often, a closet is in the wall of your room.
A wardrobe is its own piece of furniture that stands by itself, and you can use
in a room.
That's right. Usually I think of a closet when I think of a place to put my
clothes.
When I think of this word "wardrobe," I think of a good book and movie called
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
Maybe you have seen it too.
It's a good movie.
Well Gabe, I want to show you something.
Yeah?
This is really sweet, very special.
I want to see it.
Yes, look at this.
Andrea, you something funny.
Look at that!
Uh, wait. Andrea, um, excuse me.
But I don't think that this will fit me.
Um, why did you get this for me?
Gabe, Gabe, I didn't get it for you.
I bought it for my son.
This won't fit you.
But it will fit my son.
I'm going to put it in his little wardrobe.
Well, that is cute.
I'm sure it will fit him just fine.
Uh, it will fit him a lot better than it will fit me.
That's for sure.
Our key word is "fit." Now if something fits you, that means you can wear it.
Baby clothes will not fit Gabe.
And sometimes our clothes fit us well.
Sometimes they don't fit us, especially if you haven't worn something in a
while.
That's right.
Make sure something fits you before you buy it.
And friends, if the shoe fits, wear it.
Right now let's go to Conversation B.
Look through your desk or dresser drawers, too.
If you don't use something, give it away.
I should do that.
And don't forget your shelves!
Take the stuff off them and go through it.
I have books on my shelves that I won't read.
Give them away!
Then I'll have room for new books!
Just be sure they're ones you will read!
I see we get some good advice here in Conversation B.
Look through your desk or dresser drawers, too.
If you don't use something, give it away.
I like this advice.
What about you, Gabe?
Well yeah, you don't want to keep too much stuff.
Then you have too much stuff in your room.
Your house becomes very messy.
You need to give some stuff away after you go through your things.
Friends, we have a key word here.
It is "through." When you look through something, that means you are looking at
something, and maybe there's a lot to look at.
So you look through your things to see what you want and what you don't want.
You look through something.
Mmhm. Mmhm. I see.
Andrea...
I see what you're talking about. I'm just...
Andrea, what are you doing?
Well Gabe, I'm just looking through our lesson right now.
That's good.
I want to make sure there's... there's nothing that we're missing.
Andrea, that's great!
You just used our key word.
Well yes, I did.
Yes.
It's important.
Look through something.
Yeah.
And I hope that all of you also look through our lesson again when we're
finished teaching.
There's always more that you can learn and practice.
So I'll look through it again.
That's right. That is great, Andrea.
You are a genius.
Friends, look through this lesson again when we are finished.
We have another key word here.
It is "dresser." That's right.
A dresser is a place where you can put your clothes.
This is different from a closet.
A closet is a place you can open.
It has doors.
And you can hang your clothes up inside a closet.
But usually a dresser has drawers, and you can put your clothes inside these
drawers.
Yes. And of course, we can put a lot of things in our drawers that we don't
need.
So go through your dresser drawers and give things away that you don't need.
Well, it's time for us to review a lot of what we talked about already today in
our Read It.
Do you have too much stuff?
You should give some of it away and organize your house!
Look through your closet or wardrobe.
Give away clothes that don't fit.
And if you don't wear it, don't keep it.
Look through your dresser drawers and do the same thing.
Take everything off your shelves.
Then give away things you don't like or don't use.
Giving away stuff will make you feel better!
Our Read It starts with a question.
Do you have too much stuff?
And I think we're all thinking about our own answer to this question.
Well, I like how our Read It ends.
It says: Giving away stuff will make you feel better!
I agree.
Giving away stuff will make you feel better.
And it's always good to feel better or feel good.
Well, let's try to use this phrase in other ways.
What are some other things that can make you feel good or make you feel better?
Exercising every day will make you feel better.
Maybe you feel angry about something.
You're mad at someone.
Well, going out for a walk will make you feel better.
Or eating chocolate cake will make you feel better.
If you did something wrong, if you hurt a friend, well then, asking that person
to forgive you will make you feel better.
It's not always easy.
But asking someone to forgive you will make you feel better.
And if someone did something mean to you, and you just want to do something mean
to them,
maybe doing something nice for them will actually make you feel better.
Reviewing with Ginger and the Monkey Man will make you feel better.
So let's go and see them now.
Yeah, I'm going to organize all my things.
Good for you, Ginger!
I want to keep my wardrobe neat.
Good for you!
Give away clothes you don't wear.
I don't wear any clothes.
So I'll give them all away.
Right.
And look through your dresser drawers, too.
Yeah, I'll give all that stuff away, too.
Ginger, do you have books you don't read?
Yeah. Should I give those away, too?
Yes, you can give all your books to me.
Give all my books to you?
Yes, it will make you feel better.
And it will make you feel better, too.
That's right.
Do you have any bananas you don't use?
It's time to practice today's key words.
So let's do that together right now.
organize.

I organized all my books, so they're easy to find.
