Let's Talk in English.
Yes, Let's Talk in English right here on LTE TV.
My name is Andrea.
And I am Gabe.
And today we are taking a luxury tour.
That sounds wonderful.
Have you ever been on a luxury tour, Andrea?
Well no, I haven't had the chance to take a luxury tour.
But I'm glad we have the chance to talk about this and learn about this today
together.
That's right.
And we will learn about this in English.
Now, I don't know if you have ever been on a luxury tour.
It sounds really nice.
Something that is a luxury is really nice.
It's not something that you need.
But it's very comfortable.
It's just very nice.
A luxury something.
So today we will learn about luxury tours.
Open up your magazine.
Let's go to Conversation A and begin.
Hello, everyone. Welcome to Let's Talk!
Today we're talking about luxury tours.
And our special guest is Ms. Tanya Tour.
Let's welcome her.
Thanks for joining us today, Ms. Tanya Tour!
Your company helps people go on very special vacations!
That's right.
I work for a luxury tour company.
Our customers visit the best places with the best guides.
And they enjoy the best hotels and best local food, don't they?
Yes. Our customers are very comfortable when they travel!
On a luxury tour, people do more than just see the sights.
You're right, Rob.
Rob is talking to Ms. Tanya Tour.
And we have some key words to look at.
The first one is: customer.
What is a customer?
A customer is someone who buys something from a company.
So you could walk into a store and buy clothes or some chocolate.
You are that store's customer.
Or you could go on a tour.
You are buying, you're paying for this tour.
You are a customer for that company.
And there is a phrase that says the customer is always right.
Do you agree with that?
Well, most businesses try to do everything they can so that their customers are
happy.
Now if you are a customer on a tour, that means you paid for the tour.
And you might also have a guide as part of your tour.
And "guide" is another key word here.
A tour guide is the person who leads that tour.
A guide is a leader for something.
This word can also be a verb.
So the tour guide will guide the tourists or the group of people in a city.
And guides know a lot about the city.
They know abou the local food and local places.
If you have questions, talk to your guide.
And "local" is our key word.
It describes something from a certain city or town.
When you visit a city, try to find out what local things are there, what local
things make that city unique.
Well, Conversation B is also very unique.
Let's go there now.
What else do people do on a luxury tour?
They get to experience special parts of a culture or place.
Give me an example.
On our Italy tour, our customers learn to make both gelato and pizza!
They make gelato and pizza?
How fun!
Luxury tour groups are small, too.
So people can do more unique things.
Wow. I'm ready for a luxury tour now!
I just need to save some money!
I would love to experience a luxury tour.
What about you?
Well, let's talk about this word.
experience.
Now when you experience something, that means you do it or you are part of it.
You get the chance to do it and remember it and learn from it.
You can experience something.
This can also be a noun.
I had a wonderful experience overseas.
When I visited that city, it was a great experience.
I experienced something special.
Now we have another key word in this sentence.
Tanya says: They get to experience special parts of a culture or place.
The key word is "part." So it's not the whole thing, it's just part.
Right. And when you travel, you do get to experience parts of many different
cultures if you go to different countries.
Well, the next part of our teaching is another key word.
It is "unique." If something is unique, it is very special or it's different.
It's not like something that you see every day.
So people can do more unique things.
They can do things that they don't do every day.
And when I was younger in school, my teachers liked to tell us: You are unique.
Everyone is unique.
But if everyone is unique, then aren't you just like everybody else... unique?
No. Everyone is unique.
That means everyone is special, Gabe.
Everyone is special. It's true.
Well, we have a very special Read It paragraph for you right now.
Let's read it together.
Going on a luxury tour is a unique experience.
On a luxury tour, customers don't just get on and off a tour bus.
They experience unique places and learn from the best guides.
Customers might experience a traditional part of a culture or learn how to make
a local treat.
They travel in small groups, stay in luxury hotels and eat delicious food.
On a luxury tour, people are always comfortable!
Well, it is fun learning about luxury tours.
And as we learned, luxury is something that is more comfortable than normal,
right?
That's right.
When we think of luxuries in life, it's something that you don't really need,
but they're really nice so you might want them.
So you can take a luxury tour.
Or you can take a regular tour.
Now our Read It told us some good things about luxury tours, right, Gabe?
That's right, we see that you can have a unique experience.
Maybe you can experience a luxury hotel.
This is a very nice hotel.
It's a little bit more money, too.
But it's a nice hotel that has many things inside - more things than a normal
hotel.
And if you stay at a luxury hotel, they often have some very fancy restaurants
where you can try wonderful and delicious meals.
So it does sound nice to take a luxury tour.
But they are more expensive, aren't they, Gabe?
It's true.
If you pay, Andrea, I will enjoy a luxury tour.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
Well, then just take the regular tour, Gabe.
And we can take a trip to see Ginger and the Monkey Man.
So Ginger, what do you think about today's lesson?
I want to go on a luxury tour.
Oh, you want to go on a luxury tour.
Yeah, customers visit the best places.
They have the best guides.
That does sound nice.
They enjoy the best hotels and the best bananas.
Hmm, tell me more.
Well, they experience special parts of the culture.
That's interesting.
Yeah, tour groups are small so they do unique things.
Hmm, are you ready for a luxury tour?
I don't know.
What should I do first?
First, you need to save some money.
Oh. I'm not ready.
All right, friends.
Now it's time to review our key words.
The first one is: customer.
Say it again.

This company has many happy customers.
