Hi, everyone. I'm Gabe.
And I'm upset.
Yes, yes, you are upset, Ginger.
And can you tell everyone why you're upset?
I don't want to talk about it anymore.
Well, what is that in your hand?
It's a message I wrote to the manager of LTE TV.
You mean Carol?
Can I read it?
Fine. Sure. Yeah.
OK.
Dear Carol,
I'm upset.
Somebody keeps stealing my bananas.
Tell them to stop.
Thank you.
My dear bananas.
They're gone! Gone! Gone.
My dear, dear Ginger.
I am sorry that you are upset.
And I don't mean to make you even more upset.
But you spelled "stealing" wrong.
Yes. I did? I did?
Well... Well, yes. Yes, you did.
It's supposed to be S-T-E-A-L-I-N-G.
You spelled it with two E's and no A's.
My bananas are gone.
And I can't spell.
And my life is terrible.
No, no, no. No, it's not, Ginger.
You're... you're OK.
And... you're a monkey who can drive a car.
That's pretty cool.
Yeah... I guess so.
OK. Well, now it's time for us to review the features from this week.
And they're pretty fun.
And then you get to drive home to get your license.
Yeah. OK.
Can we begin with the Word Brothers?
I like them a lot.
I do too.
Let's review starting with...
The Word Brothers.
Hi, everyone. I'm Jim.
And I'm Tim. We're...
The Word Brothers.
We are similar.
But very different.
Yes, just like some English words.
For example, steal, S-T-E-A-L.
And steel, S-T-E-E-L.
These two words sound similar.
But they are very different.
Yeah, steal, S-T-E-A-L, means to take something without asking.
Stealing is not right.
People shouldn't steal.
You're right, Tim.
Some people steal things from stores.
They take things without paying for them.
Yeah. And other people steal things from people.
They steal other people's bags, or they steal other people's money or wallets or
watches or hats.
Hey, give it back to me!
They take these things from other people without asking.
People who steal are thieves.
And thieves often go to jail.
Right. Now let's look at the word "steel," S-T-E-E-L.
Steel, S-T-E-E-L, is a kind of metal.
Steel is very strong.
People use steel for many things.
That's true. Some spoons, forks and knives are made of steel.
Yes. People also use steel to make things like cars, trains and buildings.
That's right.
OK, friends, steel.
And steal.
Can you see the difference?
Good. Until next time, this is Jim.
And Tim saying...
Goodbye.
I'm your teacher Gabe with DJ Prince and the Black Pearl.
And it's time to Sing and Say.
Sing and Say.
Well, how do you play?
Well...
When you hear me sing and say.
You try to sound the same.
Say these words again today.
That's how you play the game.
Sing and Say.
phone. Sing it.
phone.
Oh yeah, baby! Oh yeah! Oh yeah!
Answer the phone. Sing it.
Answer the phone.
Uh huh.
Answer the phone. Say it.
Answer the phone.
office. Say it.
office.
Call the office phone. Oh yeah. Sing it.
Call the office phone. Oh yeah.
Give it to me! Give it to me!
Oh yeah.
voice. Sing.
voice.
You have a nice voice. Sing it.
You have a nice voice.
I know. I know. Thank you.
understand. Say it.
understand.
Uh huh.
People can understand me. Sing it.
People can understand me.
sound. Sing it.
sound.
Did you hear that sound? Say it.
Did you hear that sound?
The phone is ringing. Sing.
The phone is ringing.
And it's time to say goodbye. Bye-bye.
Bye.
Sing and Say...
Well, here we are, Karen.
The King's Steak House.
Wow! This looks like a really fancy restaurant!
Oh, it is.
It's the best in town.
Oh, no! I feel bad.
What? Why?
Well, I don't know...
I... I know what the problem is.
You are not hungry because you...
You um... You already...
Excuse me, Karen. I need to make a call.
Super Sentence Man?
Um, yes, Bernard, I am right here.
I am Super Sentence Man.
And the super sentence you need is:
You've done something, haven't you?
You've already eaten dinner, haven't you?
Yes.
You've already eaten dinner, haven't you?
All right. Now can you think of another way to use this super sentence?
Sure.
You've been to Italy, haven't you?
You've been to Italy, haven't you?
Yes, I travel all over the world.
Now what about you, Karen?
You've met my brother, haven't you?
You've met my brother, haven't you?
Yes. And his English is great.
Remember, a super sentence every day will make your English great.
Now what super sentence do you need to use with Karen?
You've already eaten dinner, haven't you?
No, I haven't eaten dinner.
I'm pretty hungry.
Then what's the problem?
Well, you took me to this really nice restaurant.
But I don't really know you that well.
I guess I'm just a little nervous.
Don't worry about that.
You're hungry.
I'm hungry.
Let's order some food and have a good time!
