Welcome back.
Now it is time for a Key Word...
Story.
We have a great Key Word...
Story...
For you today.
We're going to use all of today's key words in our Key Word...
Story.
Yes. I'm very excited.
Yes.
As Andrea is too.
Yes.
Let's uh, begin.
Tina and Gina were driving down the highway.
They were exploring new parts of the country.
But then, the car started making noises.
It was running out of gas.
"Quick!" Tina said: Open up the map. Where's the nearest city?
"It's behind us," said Gina: Let's turn back.
Then Tina said: Gina, whether we run out of gas or not, I just want you to know
you are a great travel partner.
And then Gina and Tina ran out of gas.
Oh well, at least they're good travel partners.
Well, I... I guess that's a good part of the story.
Yeah.
Well friends, we know you can do an even better job.
Right now, though, it's time for us to review our lesson.
Hello, friends.
Welcome to Let's Talk!
Our guest for today is Mr. Dale Driver.
Tell us about your book, Mr. Driver.
It's called Road Trips.
It has tips to help people plan great road trips.
You've taken a lot of road trips, haven't you?
Of course!
I've driven on small roads and highways all over the country!
What do you like about road trips?
You can choose what to explore.
Whether you stop often or just for gas, you decide!
Is traveling by car better than traveling by airplane or train?
Traveling by car isn't better; it's just different.
Airplanes and trains are often faster.
But road trips can be cheaper!
What do you need for a road trip besides a car?
You need gas, of course.
A map is helpful too.
And a traveling partner is always fun!
Whether you drive on a big highway or small roads, traveling by car can be fun.
If you see an interesting place, you can stop, explore and take pictures.
Or if you get hungry you can stop and eat anywhere!
Traveling by car can take longer than traveling by train or airplane.
But if you have your own car, road trips can be cheaper.
Then all you need is gas, a map and some traveling partners!
(Chinese).
Well, here we are, Karen.
The King's Steak House.
Wow! This looks like a really fancy restaurant!
Oh, it is. It's the best in town!
Oh, no. I feel bad.
What? Why?
Well, I don't know.
I... I know what the problem is.
You are not hungry because you...
You um... You already...
Excuse me, Karen. I need to make a call.
Super Sentence Man.
Um, yes, Bernard, I am right here.
I am Super Sentence Man.
And the super sentence you need is:
You've done something, haven't you?
You've already eaten dinner, haven't you?
Yes.
You've already eaten dinner, haven't you?
All right.
Now can you think of another way to use this super sentence?
Sure.
You've been to Italy, haven't you?
You've been to Italy, haven't you?
Yes, I travel all over the world.
Now what about you, Karen?
You've met my brother, haven't you?
You've met my brother, haven't you?
Yes. And his English is great.
Remember, a super sentence every day will make your English great.
Now what super sentence do you need to use with Karen?
You've already eaten dinner, haven't you?
No, I haven't eaten dinner.
I'm pretty hungry.
Then what's the problem?
Well, you took me to this really nice restaurant.
But I don't really know you that well.
I guess I'm just a little nervous.
Don't worry about that.
You're hungry.
I'm hungry.
Let's order some food and have a good time!
Calendar Phrase.
Traveling by car is fun.
Traveling by car is fun.
(Chinese).
Hooray! This trip will be fun.
Yes. Traveling by car is fun.
Are you ready to go?
Yes. I can't wait.
Traveling by car is fun.
I'm ready too.
Let's go!
Hooray! Traveling by car is fun!
And this trip will be really fun.
It's my first time to drive!
What!
Oh, no!
Traveling by car is fun.
Traveling by car is fun.
(Chinese).
OK, friends, we've had a lot of fun today.
And now it's time for us to review with some questions.
Number one.
Who has taken a lot of road trips?
Who has taken a lot of road trips?
Andrea, do you know the answer?
I know who. I know who.
We found out in Conversation A.
Mr. Driver has taken a lot of road trips.
OK, now here is question number two.
Have you ever taken a road trip? If so, where did you go?
Have you ever taken a road trip? If so, where did you go?
Gabe?
Have I ever taken a road trip?
Well, I've gone in a car with some friends to very far places.
I guess that's a road trip.
I went to Yosemite in California.
It's a beautiful national park.
I took a road trip there with some friends.
It was very fun.
Road trips are a lot of fun.
Yes, they can be fun.
Great answer, Gabe.
And be sure to practice your answers to these questions today.
We will see you again tomorrow right here on...
Let's Talk in English. Goodbye.
