Many women love clothes.
They often shop for new clothes.
They go to department stores and malls.
They shop online too.
What kinds of clothes do they buy?
They buy shirts, skirts and dresses.
Some women wear skirts and dresses to work.
They may wear them to parties or church too.
Women buy jeans too, of course!
Jeans are comfortable.
They look good with many kinds of shirts too.
Many women love clothes.
Well, today's lesson is called New Clothes.
I should say that many men love clothes too.

We see in today's lesson, though, some key words that have to do with clothes.

Today's lesson is about new clothes.
But you can talk about your clothes and practice that in English.
Talk about the shirt you are wearing right now.
Or maybe you're wearing a skirt.
Andrea, can you tell us what a skirt is?
Yes, I can.
A skirt is a kind of clothing for women.
Women wear skirts on the bottom part of their body.
Skirts go from your waist down your legs.
Now some skirts are very long, some skirts are short, or some skirts are in the
middle.
But a skirt is something that only women wear.
Right, Gabe? You don't wear skirts.
No, no, I do not, Andrea. I don't wear skirts.
And I also do not wear dresses.
I don't wear dresses either.
"Dress" is another key word.
And a woman would wear a dress if she wants to look nice or... or different.
Actually, when do women wear dresses, Andrea?
Well, you can wear a dress whenever you want.
Some dresses you can wear every day.
But some dresses are very fancy and formal.

The past tense of "wear" is "wore," W-O-R-E.

That's a different kind of pants.
It's a key word.
And a lot of jeans are blue.
Many people like to wear blue jeans.
I like jeans.
I think wearing jeans is cool.
And jeans are very comfortable.
