Let's Talk...
In English.
Hi, everyone. My name is Andrea.
And I am Gabe.
Today we're talking about your body.
Well, no.
We have a lesson, and it's called: Your Body.
So you know how to talk about your body in your language.
Today you will learn how to talk about your body in English.
Now, there are different words that are important to know.
And we're going to be talking about some of those key words today.
That is true.
And some of those key words are "nose" - that's a part of your body - "knee,"
"back," "foot" and "smell." Well, that is just the beginning.
Well, you are going to see all of these key words in our lesson.
So open your magazines and let's begin.
The body is wonderful.
Its parts can do different things.
Your eyes see.
Your nose can smell.
Your legs walk.
But think about this.
Your body parts work together.
You eat.
You use your mouth, teeth, tongue and throat.
You also use your nose!
If you can't smell your food, you can't taste it very well.
Now walk around.
What body parts are you using?
You're using your feet, knees, legs, back and almost 200 muscles!
Well, today we are talking about different parts of the body.
And we see a key word right there at the beginning - the nose.
That's right.
Your nose is right there on your face.
Point at your nose.
Touch your nose.
What can you do with your nose?
You can smell things.
That smells good.
Yes, that smells good.
Your nose is a very important part of your body.
You use your nose to smell things.
Your nose helps you taste things as well.
We learn that in our Read It.
Your nose works together with different parts of your body to do many important
things.
And so your nose can smell.
And we see this key word here - to smell.
You use your nose to smell.
So "smell" is a verb.
Now you can use this verb in different ways.
Your nose can smell something like flowers or coffee or bacon.
You can smell these things.
But if something smells, that means it has a certain smell.
That means it is different from other smells.
You can use this word "smell" in many different ways.
That's right.
Uh, Gabe, your nose smells.
My nose smells?
Yeah. Yeah.
It smells bad?
Andrea, my nose... my nose smells fine.
No, no, Gabe, your nose smells.
That's your nose's job.
Oh. oh, right! Yes, my nose smells.
Andrea, that makes me think.
You can use this word "smell" to say something smells good or something smells
bad.
I hope everything around you smells fine right now.
Well, we have some other key words here.
And uh, one of them is "foot." Sometimes your feet can smell pretty bad.
Isn't that right, Andrea?
Well, that is true.
You want to make sure that you wash your feet so they don't smell bad.
Your feet are important.
When you're standing, you are on your feet.
So one foot, but two feet, F-E-E-T.
And of course, you use your feet to walk from place to place.
You also need your knees, K-N-E-E.
That's a key word.
Your knee.
Of course, you don't say the "k." But you need your knees to walk.
And when you walk, you use your feet, your knees, your legs and your back.
Let's talk about that key word.
back.
Right now you don't see my back.
You see the front of my body.
My face is part of that.
But if I turn around, then you can see my back.
And I think it's a good thing that we teach facing our students, Andrea.
I don't think it's very fun to just watch someone's back.
So right now let's go and see someone's face.
Let's continue with Christina.
(Chinese).
The body is wonderful.
It can do many things.
Yeah, it can climb and swing and jump.
Our eyes can see.
Our nose can smell.
Our legs can walk.
And climb and jump.
Our body parts work together so we can eat.
Yeah. How do we eat bananas?
Our mouth, teeth, tongue and throat work together.
Wow, eating a banana is a lot of work.
We also use our nose.
That's what makes bananas taste good.
Oh, so how do we walk around?
We use our feet, knees, legs and back.
Wow! Can I watch you walk?
Sure. Where do you want me to go?
To get some bananas!
Hurry up!
OK, now it's time to review these key words.
The first one is: nose.

Right now it's time for... What is the time for?
What is today?
Well, it's Sing and Say.
Here we go.
Hi, friends.
I'm here again with DJ Prince and the Black Pearl!
Hi, hi, hi. It's time for a game of Sing and Say.
Sing and Say.
Are you ready to play?
Mmhm. Are you?
Uh huh, here we go.
When you hear me sing and say.
You try to sound the same.
Say these words again today.
That's how you play the game.
