Lights.
Camera.
Let's Talk in English.
Hi, everyone, and welcome to LTE TV.
My name is Andrea.
And my name is Gabe.
And let's order pizza!
Doesn't that sound like a great idea, Andrea?
Uh... Well, yes, that does sound like a great idea.
We can order pizza.
But make sure there is pineapple on our pizza.
Yes, pineapple and shrimp.
Well, maybe.
Well friends, our lesson today is called: Let's Order Pizza!
What do you like on top of your pizza?
Maybe you do like some shrimp on your pizza.
Maybe you like pineapple.
There are different kinds of things to put on your pizza.
And there are different sizes: small pizza, medium pizza, large pizza.
What will you order?
I just used all of today's key words.
We're going to talk about them soon.
First, let's open our magazines and get started with our Read It paragraph.
You're hungry.
You don't want to cook or go to a restaurant.
What can you do? Order pizza!
What size do you want?
Order a small, medium or large pizza.
What kind do you want?
Maybe you want a cheese pizza.
Maybe you like pineapple, vegetables or meat on your pizza.
How about ham, sausage or pepperoni?
Call and order your pizza. Then go and get it.
Or the pizza place can deliver it to your home!
Let's order pizza!
I don't want to teach right now.
Let's just order a pizza!
I'm just getting hungry thinking about pizza.
Let's order pizza, Andrea.
Oh, that's a great idea, Gabe. Let's order pizza.
Now what size should we order?
Well, maybe just a small pizza.
A small pizza?
No, no, no. We have to at least get a medium pizza, or a large pizza, or an
extra large pizza.
That sounds delicious, Andrea.
Oh, that does sound good.
Well, I think we should order two pizzas.
Two pizzas?
Yeah.
Two extra large pizzas.
OK, I'm calling the company right now.
Hello? Yes, two extra large pizzas...
I would like to order two extra large...
Any kind. That's OK. Yeah, OK.
We'll see you soon. Thanks.
Wow, wow, Gabe just ordered two extra large pizzas.
Maybe we should invite some friends to help us eat these pizzas.
Everybody. Everybody is welcome.
We ordered pizza.
And we have used all of our key words just now.
The first key word is "order." When you order something at a restaurant or on
the phone like I just did,
you say what you want to buy, what you want to eat at that restaurant.
You order what you want to eat.
When you go to a restaurant, a server might come to your table and ask you what
you would like to order.
Then you can order what you would like to eat.
So you can order on the phone.
You can order by telling a person.
You can even order things online.
When you're shopping online, you order what you want to buy online.
So there are many different ways to use this key word.
That's right.
And if you are ordering pizza, there are different sizes of pizza.
"Size" is a key word.
The size of something is how big or small it is.
What is your shoe size?
Shoes have different sizes.
Maybe your shoes are size 8 or size 5.
Clothes also have different sizes.
When you are shopping, you look for the size that you need.
And of course, when you're shopping online, you also have to know your size
before you put in your order.
So we have some ordering to do.
We ordered some pizza.
You can order different things.
And I'm going to order three more key words.
Andrea, I would like three key words.
OK, I can give you three key words.
Uh yes, I can give you: small, medium and large.
Excellent.
small.
That's something that is not big.
It's the opposite of big.
So you can order a small pizza.
Maybe you can eat it by yourself or with a friend.
Another key word is "medium." You can order a medium pizza.
It's a little bigger than small, but it's not really big.
The third key word here is "large." That is big.
That's a big pizza.
That is. So keep in mind what size of thing you want to order.
So yes, we can use these words to talk about pizza.
But you might also want something to drink with your pizza.
You can order a drink.
Would you like a small drink, a medium drink, or a large drink?
These are words that you will hear when you go to a restaurant.
And Andrea, you also talked about clothes before.
You can order clothes.
Clothes also sometimes come in sizes called small, medium or large.
That is true.
So we see these key words when we talk about many different things: clothes,
food, shoes...
What are some other things that have sizes?
Um, jewelry. Jewelry can come in different sizes.
Your earring could be large, or it could be medium, or you could have small
earrings.
Yeah. And rings also come in different sizes.
My rings are size 7.
Do you know your ring size?
Not everyone does.
Well, we've learned a lot together.
But we have more to learn.
So let's order some more things to learn from Christina.
(Chinese).
Ginger, what are you doing with the telephone?
I'm making a phone call.
Yes. But who are you calling?
Ooh. I'm calling the pizza place.
I'm hungry. But I don't want you to cook.
OK, let's order pizza.
What size do you want, small, medium or large?
I want large.
OK. What kind of pizza do you want?
I want banana and pepperoni.
Great! OK, give me the phone.
I'll help you order.
OK. Do you know what to order?
Yes, we want one large pepperoni and banana pizza.
Uh, no. That's what I want.
OK. Well, what about me?
You order your own, please.
OK, friends, now it's time to review our key words.
The first one is: order.
order.
Look at the menu. Then order some food.
size.
size.
These shoes are not the right size for me.
small.
small.
This is a small piece. Can I have a big piece?
medium.
medium.
I want a medium coffee.
large.
large.
This is a very large meal. We can share it.
And of course, we also have more to learn right now.
It's time to continue with Lucy Says.
I want to buy a toy for my cat.
What kind of toy do you want?
How about a ball... or a toy rat?
Yeah, there's a toy rat here.
Argh! Oh! That's not a toy. It's real!
What size do you want?
What something do you want?
Well, let's practice this together.
What color do you want?
I would like the purple shirt.
What fruit do you want?
I would like the apple.
What drink do you want?
I would like some orange juice, please.
What time do you want?
I would like an appointment at 9:00.
Now it's your turn to practice this Useful Sentence Pattern.
We can learn a lot from what Lucy Says.
For now, let's take abreak.
