Welcome back. I'm Gabe.
And I'm cute Ginger.
OK. And it's almost time to review our features.
But first, let's practice what we learned with the Word Brothers!
Great idea.
The two words we learned about this week were: meet and meat.
Yeah. One is spelled M-E-E-T.
And the other is M-E-A-T.
Great. So Ginger, you go first.
Give us a sentence.
Now friends, let's guess which word she uses.
OK.
OK, here I go.
I was so happy to meet you yesterday.
Which "meet" did I use?
Oh good. Do you know the answer?
That's right, it's meet, M-E-E-T.
Now I'll use one in a sentence.
Would you like to meet my friend?
Well, that's easy.
You used M-E-A-T?
Did I, Ginger?
Didn't you?
No. Were you listening carefully?
Would you like to meet my friend?
You tricked me.
Yes, I did.
The word I used M-E-E-T.
OK, practice these words today.
For now, let's review our features beginning with...
The Word Brothers.
Hi, everyone. I'm Jim.
And I'm Tim. We're...
The Word Brothers.
We are similar.
But very different.
Yes, just like some English words.
For example, meat, M-E-A-T.
And meet, M-E-E-T.
These two words sound similar.
But they are very different.
Meat, M-E-A-T, is something you eat.
I love to eat meat.
Chicken, beef, pork and turkey are all different kinds of meat.
Do you eat meat every day?
Some people don't like to eat meat.
They only eat vegetables and fruits.
Now what about meet, M-E-E-T.
Meet, M-E-E-T, is a verb.
It can mean to see or speak to somebody for the first time.
Right.
When we see someone for the first time, we often say: It's nice to meet you.
It's nice to meet you.
This meet is meet, M-E-E-T.
Mmhm. How can you remember the difference?
Well, remember we eat meat.
The word "eat," E-A-T, is in the meat, M-E-A-T, we eat.
Right. We eat (E-A-T) meat (M-E-A-T).
Do you understand?
OK, friends, meet.
And meat.
Can you see the difference?
Good. Until next time, this is Tim.
And Jim saying...
Bye-bye.
Excuse me, Miss.
How long is the wait?
When can my computer be fixed?
We are very busy right now.
You will have to wait two or three hours.
Oh. That's a long time.
Can I leave my computer here tonight?
Yes, you can come back tomorrow and get it.
Will it be ready then?
Yes.
(Music).
Hi, everyone.
Today I brought my little ant friend.
He's going to join us for It's a Rap!
Well, you will see a word.
Think of three words that rhyme with that word and make a rap.
OK, today's word is: protect.
OK, so what rhymes with "protect"?
Uh, expect and correct and...
Insect.
Insect! Good, like my friend.
OK, let's get started.
Ooh, I like that.
His name is Freddy. He's a small insect.
An important animal. That is correct.
A bug that you should try to protect.
But that is not what a bug will expect.
Hey, I like that.
OK, here we go.
His name is Freddy. He's a small insect.
An important animal. That is correct.
A bug that you should try to protect.
But that is not what a bug will expect.
Hey, that was really good.
It's a Rap!
Oh no!
