(Music).
Well hello, everyone, and welcome to the Saturday Show of Let's Talk in English.
My name is Gabe.
And what did we learn on LTE TV this week?
Well, we talked about your feelings.
Well, not just your feelings.
But how are you feeling today, anyway?
Are you happy?
Are you sad?
Are you angry or scared?
Well, I am glad you are here with us today.
We also learned how to deal with our emotions, right?
If you are angry with someone, maybe you need to learn how to forgive that
person.
And of course, we need to learn how to deal with our fears - the things that we
are afraid of.
Well, we talked about a lot this week.
Now it's time for us to review our lessons.
Here we go.
When do you feel happy?
Maybe you win a game.
Or you do well on a test.
Something good happens and you feel glad.
When do you feel sad?
Maybe your pet dies.
Or you move away from friends.
Something bad happens and you feel unhappy.
When do you feel angry?
Maybe someone hurts you or says mean things to you.
Then you feel upset.
How are you feeling now?
Don't be scared.
Tell people about your feelings.
Hi, Lily.
Are you OK?
Yes, I'm fine.
Are you crying?
Yes, but I'm OK.
Why are you crying?
My grandpa is in the hospital.
Oh! So you are sad.
I'm sorry.
No. I'm happy!
Really? But you're crying.
Because I'm happy!
My grandpa is getting better.
I'm so glad.
Me too.
I was scared.
My grandpa was very sick.
But he's getting better.
That's great!
Yes. Grandpa can leave the hospital next week.
Uh, Lily?
Yes, Rob?
Don't be angry.
But I need to start the show now.
Oh, sorry. I can leave.
Thanks for listening.
You're welcome.
Everyone experiences emotions.
You can't always choose your emotions, but you can choose your response.
For example, your friend gets a new car and you feel jealous.
You can choose to feel bad or to be excited for your friend.
If you're angry, you can choose to hurt others or to forgive.
When you're afraid of something, you can either avoid it or face your fear.
Don't ignore your feelings.
Admit them and deal with them in a positive way.
Hello, and welcome to Let's Talk!
Let's welcome our special guest, Miss Emotions.
Miss Emotions, you know a lot about emotions.
That's right.
I experience a lot of emotions, and I know how to deal with them.
Great.
How are you feeling now?
I'm excited to be on this show!
I'm a big fan.
Well, I'm glad.
Some people have trouble with their emotions.
Why is that?
Some people ignore their feelings.
Others think, "I shouldn't feel this way.".
But feelings aren't bad.
No! They're normal.
But a person's response can be bad.
Give me an example.
If you feel afraid of people, you might never talk to anyone.
So you'll never have any friends.
Right!
Or you can face your fear and talk to people.
Well, thanks for talking with us today.
You're welcome!
What is leap year?
It's a year with an extra day on February 29.
Why do we have an extra day?
There are usually 365 days in a year.
But the fact is that a year actually lasts 365 days and six hours.
It's true!
That's how long it takes Earth to travel around the sun.
What do we do with the extra six hours?
Every four years we add an extra day to our calendars.
That was my mom on the phone.
Today is her birthday.
Nice. How old is she?
She's 19.
What?! That can't be true.
It is! This is a leap year!
My mom was born on February 29.
So she only gets a birthday once every four years.
Oh!
Hey, Susie, why do we have leap years?
A year usually has 365 days, right?
But the Earth takes 365 days and six hours to travel around the sun.
Is that a fact?
Yes! And no one wants a day that only lasts six hours.
That would be strange.
Right. That's why we add a day to our calendars every four years.
Thanks for explaining that.
You're welcome.
Happy 18th Birthday, Justin Bieber!
Justin was born in Canada.
As a child, he learned to play the drums, piano, guitar and trumpet.
But he didn't have lessons.
He liked to sing too.
He sang in a talent contest.
He was 12 years old.
He won second prize.
He put videos of his performance on YouTube for his friends and family.
Many people saw the videos and liked them.
Now he is famous!
Hi, Ken!
I am so excited!
What? Why are you so excited?
I have tickets to a concert.
They are an early birthday gift.
What concert?
A Justin Bieber concert.
Who?
Justin Bieber.
He sings so well!
He plays the drums, piano and guitar too.
Wow. He has talent.
But who is he?
He is a famous singer!
Tell me about him.
He was born in Canada.
He is only 18.
He is very young.
He sang in a contest.
He was 12 years old.
He got second prize.
That's nice.
He put videos of his songs on YouTube.
Lots of people liked them.
So now he is famous.
Yes. And I'm going to his concert.
Would you like to be famous?
Many famous people are rich.
Lots of people love and admire them.
They get their pictures in newspapers and magazines.
They meet other famous people.
They can also influence many people.
But famous people have no privacy.
People follow them around and take their picture.
People discuss famous people's lives and criticize them.
They can't have any secrets.
So would you want to be famous?
(Music).
Hi, Carol.
You sang really well last night at the concert.
Thanks. I love to sing.
Why aren't you famous?
I wouldn't want to be famous!
Why not?
You could be rich!
Lots of people would love and admire you.
I know.
And I could influence people too.
Yes. You could influence people to help others.
Everyone listens to famous people.
But famous people have no privacy.
I know.
Everyone discusses their lives.
And people criticize them.
They criticize their clothes.
They talk about their personal lives.
I wouldn't like that.
I couldn't have any secrets!
I don't want people to take my picture or watch me all the time!
I only like to be watched when I'm on TV!
Hi, everyone.
I'm here with Ginger and...
Shh. Hey, hey, hey. Quiet!
Don't tell people I'm here.
Uh, why, Ginger?
Because I'm famous, and I don't like it when people watch me.
But Ginger, you're on TV.
People are supposed to watch you.
Oh, yeah.
Well then, let's do that again.
From the top, everybody!
OK. Here we go.
Hi, everyone! I'm here with Ginger and...
And I'm here with uh, Gabe. Yes.
Yes, you are.
And we have some questions just for you.
The first question is: Whose grandpa is in the hospital?
I know the answer.
It's Lily.
Lily's grandpa is in the hospital, but he's getting better.
That's right.
And that was excellent, Ginger.
Now do you have a question for us?
I sure do.
Who just turned 18 years old this month?
Let's see.
Is it Ken?
No.
Uh, is it Lily?
No.
Someone famous.
Well, someone famous.
Is this person more famous than you, Ginger?
Nobody's more famous than me.
Well, then who is it?
It's someone who doesn't work here at LTE TV.
It's Justin Bieber!
Well, of course!
Ginger, are you sure he's not more famous than you?
I don't want to talk about it.
I want a banana.
Well friends, I guess that means it's time to take a break.
Here we go.
Banana! Can someone get me a banana?
OK, banana!somebody...
