(Music).
It's time to review today's key words with our key word story.
This is where we tell a story using all of our key words.
So I will begin, and Gabe will continue.
OK.
There once was a rich man named Peter.
And everybody in his city really admired him.
Peter also influenced many people in the city.
And so everybody was talking about him.
Everybody discussed Peter because they wanted to know what he would do with his
money.
But Peter had a secret.
What was Peter's secret?
His secret was that he is Justin Bieber's uncle.
And that was an incredible secret.
And everyone discussed it.
OK, friends.
Well, that was an interesting key word story.
I'm sure you can do a better job.
Right now let's continue learning with Conversation A.
(Music).
Hi, Carol.
You sang really well last night at the concert.
Thanks. I love to sing.
Why aren't you famous?
I wouldn't want to be famous!
Why not?
You could be rich!
Lots of people would love and admire you.
I know.
And I could influence people too.
Yes. You could influence people to help others.
Everyone listens to famous people.
Well, Carol was in a concert last night.
When Rob saw Carol, he said, "You sang really well at the concert." You sang
really well.
Now this is something good to use when you want to tell someone that they did
something very well, when you want to encourage them.
You sang very well.
You played the guitar very well.
You played the trumpet very well.
If someone performs, if someone does something that you like, tell them.
It's a way to encourage them.
Well yes, Carol can sing very well.
Rob says that she should be famous.
He says, "Why aren't you famous?" Well, Carol says, "I wouldn't want to be
famous!" I wouldn't want to be famous.
Now even if she could be famous in the future, if that was a choice that she had
one day, she wouldn't want to be famous.
So we use this phrase to talk about something that even if you could, you
wouldn't want it.
I wouldn't want to have an expensive car.
I wouldn't want to travel that much.
Or I wouldn't want to have a dog.
Well, she wouldn't want to be famous.
But we do want to learn more.
Let's look at Conversation B.
But famous people have no privacy.
I know.
Everyone discusses their lives.
And people criticize them.
They criticize their clothes.
They talk about their personal lives.
I wouldn't like that.
I couldn't have any secrets!
I don't want people to take my picture or watch me all the time!
I only like to be watched when I'm on TV!
Oh, Rob says he only likes to be watched when he is on TV.
Well, not everybody wants to be famous.
Carol says, "Famous people have no privacy." These people have no privacy.
That means everyone knows a lot about them.
They always want to know about famous people.
They have no privacy.
Well friends, you can use this phrase in another way if you have no something.
You can say: I'm sorry. I'm busy now. I have no free time.
Do you have any brothers or sisters?
No, I have no brothers or sisters.
I have no friends.
I have nobody to care about me.
Well, I hope that's not true.
I'm sure that people do care about you, and you do have friends, and you do have
time to practice English.
Do that every day.
Right now it's time for us to review our lesson.
Here we go.
Would you like to be famous?
Many famous people are rich.
Lots of people love and admire them.
They get their pictures in newspapers and magazines.
They meet other famous people.
They can also influence many people.
But famous people have no privacy.
People follow them around and take their picture.
People discuss famous people's lives and criticize them.
They can't have any secrets.
So would you want to be famous?
(Music).
Hi, Carol.
You sang really well last night at the concert.
Thanks. I love to sing.
Why aren't you famous?

Let's review some of what we learned today with our Answer It questions.
Here is the first one.
What don't famous people have?
Now famous people have many things.
But what don't famous people have?
Gabe's going to answer it.
Yes, we found the answer in our Read It paragraph today.
The answer is: Famous people don't have privacy.
Lots of people know about them and like to discuss their lives, so they don't
have privacy.
Number two. Would you want to be famous? Why or why not?
Andrea?
That's a hard question to answer!
Well yes, I would like to be famous.
I would like to be rich, and I would like to have people interested in who I am.
But I would still like to have privacy.
So... I'm not sure.
I'd like to be famous, but I would also like to keep my privacy.
Can I do that?
I think you can, Andrea, because I think you are kind of famous here on Let's
Talk in English, and you still have privacy.
Oh. Gabe, you're fun.
I... I don't really think I'm famous.
But Gabe... Gabe's a good guy.
OK friends, thank you for joining us today.
And we have more to learn tomorrow.
So be sure to come to...
Let's Talk in English.
Right here at the studio. Bye-bye.
Goodbye.
