(Music).
I'm ready. Are you ready?
I'm ready.
All right. Lights.
Camera.
Let's Talk in English.
Hello everyone, and welcome to LTE TV.
My name is Andrea.
And I am Gabe.
We're continuing with a lesson today about shopping.
Now, it's called: Be Careful!
Be Careful!
Why?
Well, we've been talking about shopping online.
And sometimes it's fun.
It's great to shop online.
But of course it's important to be careful because not all websites are safe.
That's true. We want you to be safe shoppers when you are shopping online.
And we have some very important information to help you today.
So please open your magazine, find today's lesson, and let's begin.
Shopping online is easy, fast and convenient, but is it safe?
Yes, but shoppers must still be careful.
When you want to buy something, look at the webpage.
Look for an "s" after "http" in the web address.
Then you know you can enter your credit card number or other personal
information and be safe.
Also, make sure there is a tiny closed padlock somewhere on the webpage.
It is sometimes in the bottom right corner.
Well, if you are going shopping, then you are a shopper.
"Shopper" is a key word for today.
A shopper is someone who shops.
Do you like to shop?
Then you are a shopper.
Are you a shopper?
There were many shoppers at the mall today.
It was really crowded.
Now are you a shopper who likes to find good deals?
Well, most shoppers like to find good deals.
And we are still learning how to be safe and be careful when shopping online.
You want to be a safe shopper.
The... A safe shopper.
Of course, we are talking about shopping online today.
And if you go online, there are many different websites.
We learned that there are over 10 million shopping websites.
And another word that is like the word "website" is "webpage." It's today's key
word.
Webpage is a website.
Which webpages do you check every day?
Some people look at the same webpages every day when they are online.
Maybe you can look at Studio Classroom's webpage sometime.
It's www.StudioClassroom.com.
And our webpage, our website is a safe website.
And you can find lots of information there.
"Information" is a key word.
Information is things that you know or things that you can find out about.
You can find out a lot of information on websites.
And you might also need to give some personal information if you want to buy
something there.
Now what kind of personal information do you have to give a website?
Well, if you are buying something online, personal information includes your
name, your address, and also your credit card number.
And that is some information that you need to keep safe.
So that's why it's important to make sure that a website is safe.
Now how can we make sure that it's safe?
You might see a tiny closed padlock somewhere on the page.
This key word is "tiny." If something is tiny, it's really small.
Maybe you have to look for that padlock.
That's right. It's tiny. You have to search for it to find it.
We can say the baby bird had tiny babies. They were so cute.
And there are many tiny ants all around here.
Well, OK, not really in here.
I'm glad.
Yeah. But of course, ants are tiny, little animals.
And on this website, a safe website will have a tiny closed padlock.
So it's not open. It's "closed." If something is closed, that means it's not
open.
A store can be closed.
When a store is closed, you can't go inside.
When a door is closed, you have to open it before you can walk through.
And we see another key word here.
It is the word "corner." Now I have a board here.
It's my clipboard.
There are four corners.
And a website also has corners because computer screens have corners.
So you might see this tiny closed padlock at the right corner of your computer.
So look for that to be a safe online shopper.
Now let's learn more with Christina.
(Chinese).
And now let's review our lesson.
Hooray! Shopping online is fast and convenient and fun.
Yes. But is it safe?
Yes. I can't hurt myself using the computer.
I mean, is your money safe?
My money?
Yes. When you shop online, look for the "s" after "http".
"S"? Does "s" mean "safe"?
Well, maybe.
The "s" means it's safe to enter personal information.
Ooh, like my age and my weight.
No. Personal information like your credit card number.
Ooh. Hey, there is a tiny lock on the website.
If the lock is locked, your information is safe.
The little padlocks are tiny and so cute.
Yes. I like the ones that are locked.
Yeah, me too.
OK, now it's time to review our key words.
shopper.
shopper.
Many shoppers buy things in that store.

Look at my computer. Do you like this webpage?

Terri read the information about the school.

The baby is so tiny!
closed.
closed.
The door is closed now. Don't open it.
corner.
corner.
Josh wrote a note on the corner of the paper.
Great job, everyone.
Now it's time for It's a Rap!
Hey, hey, hey. You will see a word.
Think of some other words that rhyme with that word.
And the word for today is: shopper.
Hmm, what rhymes with "shopper"?
Well, we have foreigner, corner...
Thank you. Cheaper. Excellent.
Angus and Duck, give me a beat.
I am just a shopper.
On a street corner.
I want something cheaper.
Than the other foreigner.
Now a little faster.
Here we go.
I am just a shopper.
On a street corner.
I want something cheaper.
Than the other foreigner.
Oh, yeah! Thank you, Angus and Duck.
It'sa Rap!
