(Music).
OK. OK, are you ready?
It's time for my favorite part of the show.
It's called What's that Word?
What's that Word?
What's that Word?
Well, I do have a word in mind.
It's a key word from today's lesson.
But the letters are not in the right places.
Your job is to figure out what the word is.
OK, here are the letters: Y-E-S-E-L-P.
What that word?
Y-E-S-E-L-P.
Yeah.
It's one of our key words.
Let me see... I'm getting a little sleepy just thinking about...
Andrea, wake up.
... this. It's sleepy!
What?
The word is "sleepy"! Yes!
Y-E-S-E-L-P becomes SLEEPY, S-L-E-E-P-Y, right?
Yes, Andrea, that is right.
You did a great job.
Oh. Well, I'm not sleepy. Not at all.
Right now it's time for us to continue.
We're going to learn something in Conversation A.
Here we go.
I'm sleepy today.
Did you stay up late last night?
Yes. I often go to bed late.
You're a night owl.
I am.
I prepare for the next day's show every night.
Do you have enough energy during the day?
Yes. I don't need a lot of sleep.
Or maybe you drink too much coffee!
Oh, I'm sleepy today.
Well friends, I'm not sleepy today.
That's what Rob said at the beginning of our conversation.
He yawns and says, "I'm sleepy today." Now, when do you yawn?
People often yawn when they are sleepy.
When you yawn, you open your mouth, breathe air in and out again.
Yawn, Y-A-W-N.
When people yawn, you often think they are sleepy.
Well, Rob yawned.
And why is he so sleepy?
He stayed up late last night.
So Lily says, "You're a night owl." Rob stayed up late, so Lily says, "You're a
night owl." Now if someone wakes up early,
can you say, "You're a night owl"?
No. Then you say, "You're an early bird." You're an early bird.
Well, let's see another example of how we can use today's key words in
Conversation B.
Are you a night owl or an early bird, Lily?
I'm an early bird!
I go to bed early and wake up early!
I wake up at 5 a.m.
That's early!
What do you do in the morning?
I exercise. I cook breakfast.
Then I watch the news.
Wow! You have a lot of energy in the morning!
Wow! Lily does have a lot of energy in the morning!
She has a lot of energy.
She wakes up at 5 a.m. every morning.
Well, when do you have a lot of energy?
Or you could ask, "What gives you energy?" Does coffee give you energy?
Does it give you energy to hang out or spend time with some friends?
That gives me energy.
I love talking with friends. It gives me energy.
When do you have a lot of energy, in the morning or at night?
Well earlier, Lily said, "I'm an early bird. I go to bed early and wake up
early!" I go to bed early and wake up early.
Well, these are good phrases to know: going to bed and waking up.
When do you go to bed?
When do you wake up?
I go to bed at around 12:00 at night.
And I like to sleep in.
I don't like to wake up that early.
Well friends, we do have a lot more to learn.
