(Music).
Hey, everybody.
Now it's time for What's that Word?
What's that Word?
What's that Word?
And I have a great word for today.
Now the letters are mixed up.
They're not in the right places.
But it is a key word.
And your job is to find out what the word really is.
OK, here are the letters.
It's very difficult. Listen carefully.
A-I-R-P-L-A-N-E.
What's that word?
This is very difficult, Andrea.
What's that word?
A-I-R-P-L-A-N-E. Well...
Yeah, it's not easy. Not easy.
Gabe. Gabe, the word is "airplane." The... the letters are not mixed up!
Wait.
Airplane.
Airplane.
Yeah.
You're right, Andrea.
It's easy!
Oh, great job!
That was really, really difficult.
Friends, I know you got the answer too.
Airplane.
And of course, that is a way to get around, to fly in an airplane.
Well, right now it's time for us to continue with our conversations.
Here we go.
So, Tina, tell us about your job.
I'm a travel writer.
I travel to different places and write about them.
That sounds fun.
How do you get places?
Do you drive, take a train or fly?
All of the above. I love flying.
Anytime I travel by airplane is great.
That's good. Not everyone loves flying.
And once I rode in a helicopter.
That was exciting!
Rob is interviewing Tina.
And Tina is a travel writer.
A travel writer. That's her job!
That sounds like a very interesting job.
She gets to travel to different places.
Now how does she travel?
Does she drive, take a train or fly?
Well, all of the above.
If one person says something or asks you a question: Do you like apples, oranges
or bananas?
And you like apples, oranges and bananas.
Then you can say, "All of the above." All of the things that person said is
true.
All of the above.
What's a good way to practice English?
Talking to a friend?
Writing in an English journal?
Or reading Let's Talk in English magazine?
Well, all of the above.
All of those things are great for practicing and using English every day.
Well, we have more to learn right now.
Let's go and see Christina.
(Chinese).
Tina, what were some of your favorite places?
I loved South Africa.
I traveled by jeep and saw wild animals.
Fun!
And I enjoyed traveling by ship all around Southeast Asia.
Cool. Was there a place you didn't enjoy?
Yes. One time I was writing about tree houses, and I fell... a long distance.
Then I discovered one way I don't like to travel.
What's that?
By ambulance!
Well, at the beginning of this conversation, Rob has a question.
He says, "Tina, what were some of your favorite places?" What were some of your
favorite places?
This is a good question to ask someone if they just got back from a trip.
What was one of your favorite places?
Or, what were some of your favorite places?
She loved South Africa.
She traveled by jeep and saw wild animals.
And then she says, "I enjoyed traveling by ship all round Southeast Asia." So
you can travel by something.
Like we said before, you can travel by plane, you can travel by ship, travel by
jeep...
Now, what is it called if you are just walking?
Is it "traveling by foot"?
No, no, no.
It's going on foot somewhere.
I'm going on foot to the next place.
So you can travel by a vehicle or go on foot.
And right now it's time for us to travel on over to see Christina.
(Chinese).
And now let's review today's lesson.
There are different vehicles for different needs.
Do you need to go a long distance?
Going by airplane would be best.
Do you need to travel on water?
Of course, you'll choose a boat or a ship!
Do you need to travel in a place without good roads?
Then a jeep or a helicopter are good choices.
But there is one vehicle that no one wants to travel in.
What is it? An ambulance!
So, Tina, tell us about your job.
I'm a travel writer.
I travel to different places and write about them.
That sounds fun.
How do you get places?
Do you drive, take a train or fly?

Calendar Phrase.
Tell me about your job.
Tell me about your job.
(Chinese).
Tell me about your job.
I have a great job.
I love my job.
Why? Tell me about your job.
I meet nice people every day.
That sounds fun. What else?
Tell me about your job.
My customers are very happy.
Why? Tell me about your job.
I work at the ice cream shop.
Oh. You have a great job!
Yeah.
Tell me about your job.
Tell me about your job.
(Chinese).
All right, now it's time to Answer it!
I have the first question.
And I know you have the answer.
The question is: What did Tina do in South Africa?
Hmm? What did Tina do in South Africa, Andrea?
What did Tina do?
Oh, I know. Tina traveled to South Africa... OK.
Tina traveled by jeep and saw wild animals in South Africa.
That would be a great place to travel.
OK, here is the next question.
What place would you like to travel to? Why?
Gabe, what place would you like to travel to?
OK, where would I like to go?
I want to go somewhere I've never been.
I've never been to Thailand.
I would like to travel to Thailand.
I've heard great things about Thailand.
Oh, it's great. The food is wonderful. It's beautiful.
I think you should travel to Thailand.
Well friends, we hope that you join us again tomorrow right here.
We'll be learning more things on Let's Talk...
In English.
Goodbye.
See you next time.
