Welcome back, everyone.
We get to review our lesson together.
Now Mike Horn does sound like a very interesting man.
We will review our conversations and the article that we read about him.
So let’s do that together right now.
Hi, Pam.
Hi, Amy.
Hi, Jason. What’s up?
Nothing much.
Hey, do either of you know where I can get a good scooter?
Don’t you already have a scooter?
Yes, but it is old,
and it broke down.
Uh-oh. Where?
In some sand by the river.
I wanted to get closer to the water.
He should have ridden a camel!
What?
We were just talking about riding camels.
Oh.
But a scooter is much better for going around a city.
I think so.
I need something with an engine.
I read about a guy who traveled around the world without any motorized
transportation.
Who is he?
Here’s the article about him in Adventure magazine.
In 1999, Mike Horn began his first big adventure:
traveling around the world at the equator.
He traveled for seventeen months from June 1999 to October 2000.
He went alone and didn’t use any motorized transportation.
He hiked, swam, canoed, biked and sailed the forty-six thousand six hundred and
seventy kilometers.
Wow.
That’s great.
Yes.
But I don’t want an adventure.
I just want to get to places around town.
(Music).
Hello.
Welcome back to the Information Desk.
(Chinese).
OK. That’s all for today.
And I hope you have a nice weekend.
I’ll see you next week.
What’s next today?
Sing and Say.
Wooh! Oh, jazz.
Hello, friends.
Black Pearl here.
This week we are going to review words about transportation and going places.
Let’s Sing and Say.
You know, Simon got a new car.
And:
It’s in his garage.
Sing it.
It’s in his garage.
Does Simon have a driver’s license?
Say it.
Does Simon have a driver’s license?
Oh, no.
My engine broke down.
Sing it.
Oh, no.
My engine broke down.
Woo-hoo.
What kind of car do you have?
Sing it.
What kind of car do you have?
Oh, that was so dramatic.
Sara drove three hundred miles on her vacation.
Say it.
Sara drove three hundred miles on her vacation.
Good.
That’s a long distance.
Sing it.
That’s a long distance.
Oh, yeah.
Would you consider living on a farm?
Say it.
Would you consider living on a farm?
Sue drove to the country.
Sing it.
Sue drove to the country.
I dream of living in the country one day.
Say it.
I dream of living in the country one day.
Let’s take a tour.
Sing it.
Let’s take a tour.
Oh, you’re so good.
See you next time. Bye!
Calendar Phrase.
How will you get there?
How will you get there?
(Chinese).
Are you going to the park?
Yes.
How will you get there?
I’ll ride with Sally to the party.
What if Sally doesn’t go to the party?
How will you get there?
I’ll ride with Max to the party.
What is Sally and Max don’t go? How will you get there?
I’ll ride with Linda to the party.
What is Sally and Max and Linda don’t go?
Then how will you get there?
Hmm.
If Sally and Max and Linda don’t go, then there won’t be a party.
Oh.
How will you get there?
How will you get there?
(Chinese).
Here is your Question of the Day.
What kind of transportation would you like to try?
Why?
Well Tom, would you like to try to answer this question?
Yes.
What kind of transportation would I like?
Well, I think I would like to try doing something on the water, something fast
on the water,
because fast things are exciting.
And I like to get away from the land.
Ooh, yes, I agree with you.
I would like to try sailing for a big distance across the water,
maybe even sailing from one country to another country or from one continent to
another continent.
Andrea, you could go around the world sailing.
Oh, wow.
Now that... that is a dream.
That is a dream.
You could do it.
OK, maybe.
Well, thank you, everyone, for joining us here at The Mall.
We’ll see all of you again tomorrow.
Goodbye, everyone.
Bye-bye.
