Teaching design of Chapter 6 Fish Story ——八年级深圳牛津英语上册第六单元教学设计 南山实验学校麒麟中学英语组 张红艳 【教学设计】 教学内容 Fish Story是深圳牛津八年级上册第六单元的一篇文章,本节课为第二课时。 Analysis of the Teaching Material It’s a reading lesson. The teaching material is selected from Chapter 6 Fish Story, Book 8A Oxford English, This is a story about a clever man called Happy .He makes a living by selling a kind of invisible fish called African Ghost Fish. 教学目标 Teaching aims By the end of the class, students will be able to (1) get familiar with the key words and useful expressions in this text. (2) comprehend the story by asking and answering the questions. (3) make an advertisement for Happy to sell more fish. 设计理念 老师想要体现“以学为本”的基本理念,也是对我校“六学课堂”的探索。其中六学是指个体自学,同伴 互助,互动展学,网络拓学,实践研学。课前设计,学生在老师的引导下,完成对单词的复习,为后面课 文理解打下基础。课中设置了问题,短语,需要他们个体自学,同伴互助,互动展学,课后设计知识的生 成反馈,由于大部分的学生都对故事这样的题材比较感兴趣,有的学生很是擅长表演。所以老师经常让他 们演绎故事,或者改写,续写故事等。这也是体验式的学习。团队合作将成为主流课堂。所以讨论环节,表 演环节都是老师给学生创造更多机会用所学习的短语和句型表达自己。最后课下作业设计是让学生预习相 关文章渔夫的故事,最后以小组合作的方式,制作 PPT,可以将生词,短语,自己整理出来,可以准备一 些问题,在下节课上交流展示。 教学过程 Teaching procedures: 1 Daily speech 每日演讲 活动说明:课前做什么最好?每次都读课文或者听写单词,久了会让学生产生对英语学习的疲惫. 从初一开 始,我就结合初中英语教学要求,进行 SHOW TIME, 演讲,英文歌曲欣赏等,每天的英语课堂上让一个学生 做演讲,教师根据教材的安排可以提前准备一些话题让学生自由选择,也可以由学生自己准备最新时事 新闻或见闻。根据学生演讲的内容,演讲结束后老师提出一些问题让其余学生来回答,演讲者来判断对错 听后回答问题不仅能增强学生的口头表达能力,而且有助于教师迅速了解学生的理解程度。同时演讲者的 分数由其余同学打,满分为 4分,这样学生演讲精心准备,听的人认真细心。而且这同时又是对深圳中考 题型的训练,在中考听说考试中,就是听完一段对话后,提出几个问题,学生回答。而最后一项对口语能 力的测试就是说一段英语,满分 4分。从平时做起,学生对中考的题目早就不陌生了。 Step1 Pre-reading 读前活动 1) Ask students to watch an video about fish. 2) Ask Ss to look the new words up in the dictionary. (chic /awful ) 3) Ask Ss to try to follow the video and speak English loudly. In this way, teacher can lead in the title African ghost fish 活动说明:俗话说的好,万事开头难,课堂的开始是很重要的,它或多或少决定了这堂课的成功与否。有 时候我也困惑,初中生了,会不会不再像小学生一样容易兴奋,已经不再喜欢简单的比赛或者游戏了, 其实不然。 这是课前准备的色拉英语的很短的视频。是两条很可爱的鱼的对话。一方面吸引学生的注意力。 另一方面也是词汇的拓展。在过程中,学生运用字典查出新单词的意思,并踊跃地跑上讲台让老师检阅。 平时老师有意识地训练学生快速查单词的能力,以及主动查字典的习惯。课堂开始,学生就进入了积极状 态。 Step2 While- reading 读中 Task1 Let’s play a guessing game. 单词大比拼 1) Ask students to say out these words as quickly as possible. 2) Students were encouraged to guess the key words from definition 2 活动说明:这是对前一课时单词的复习,迅速地在屏幕上出现一单词然后就消失,请学生流利地读出并 拼写。看哪组成员的反应最快。然后根据意思猜单词,会的直接站起来说,这样竞争就很强。这个步骤有时 候也可以换成两学生合作,一个面向单词,负责用英语解释单词,一个背向单词,根据同伴的解释猜测 说出那个单词。在规定时间内说出单词最多的那组学生获胜。此活动的目的都在于加强学生对单词的掌握 为下面课文活动的顺利开展做好铺垫。 Task 2 Ask and answer 1) Ask students to listen to the tape and think of the following questions at the same time 2) Ask students to share their answers with their group members . 3) Check answers together. 4) Ask one student to go to the platform to play Hot seat Game. He is the big boss, he can answer all the questions .the other students try to ask questions. 1.Who’s Happy? 2. What does he do? 3.What is special about the African Ghost Fish? 4. Why is a person lucky to see a female Ghost fish? 5.Why do his fish tanks sell quickly? 6. Are his customers satisfied with him? Why? 7.Does grandpa tell another story at once ?. What does grandpa ask them to do ? 8. Why did Grandpa whisper ‘Thank you, Happy.’? 活动说明:活动的目的在于,让学生边听听力边自行回答屏幕上的问题, 然后小组内互相提问,或 以开火车的形式提问,从而学生之间可以分享信息。然后课件撤掉,挑选最有自信的孩子坐上讲台上的光 荣的 hot seat, 回答同学们提出来的问题。鼓励同学们自己创造新问题提问 hot seat 的同学。给予积分 鼓励。如,问一个问题得 1分,回答出来得 2分,回答不上来的人就可以下去了,换新的同学坐上 Hot seat.这不但训练学生的阅读水平,还训练说英语的水平。 Task 3 Phrases pk 1) Ask students to underline the key phrases as soon as possible. The top ten students can Come to the front and they can earn marks. 2) Students read the phrases clearly and loudly together 3) Students study in groups of 4, they choose one of the bags to practise. Students should read the phrases one by one . If your group use least time , you are the winners. Bag 1 Bag 2 Bag3 Bag 4 3 1.收到投诉 2.动身去 3.从做某事中得到快乐 4.令人放松的 5. 卖完… 1.生活的不错 2.开始做某事 3.产卵 4.变得看得见的 5.极其幸运 1.讲故事 2.从…收到… 3.到处旅行 4.根据某人所说 5.最美丽的活生物 1.记得做某事 2.仔细观察 3.激动地急冲 4.很快 5.开一家宠物店 活动说明:小组合作分工,寻找本文中的 20个重点短语,首先完成的同学上讲台给老师查阅后给本组加 分。教师在讲台上倒数,给机会给10个学生。在朗读完这些短语后 ,4人组组长为本组挑选任意一个短 语包,开始练习。要求小组内成员都必须说出正确的英语短语,最少时间完成的组获胜。这样基础差点的 也跟起来学了。如果组内学生的声音太轻怎么办?声音太轻,听不见,就需要重复自己的话,这样就浪费 了时间,所以成员们都努力大声说了。培养学生大声说英语是十分必要的,不然老师无法纠正学生的发音 错误。久了,学生大声说话就成了习惯,也不忸怩了,时间也节约下来了。 Step 3 post-reading 读后 Task 4 Discussion Ask students to discuss the following two questions. 1) Do you think the story is true? If it is true, what do you think of Happy Day? 2) Please discuss the ending of Happy in groups 活动说明:以四人一小组,选择你感兴趣的话题进行讨论,这样可以节约时间,加快讨论的速度,也可 以提高讨论的广度。为学生提供选择性学习内容,可以满足不同程度学生的学习需求。 Task 5 Advertisement -----Text play 1.The world’s only _________ fish. 2.They need ____ food. 3. The female is the ____ ________ creature alive. 4.She becomes ______ after she ____ her eggs (产卵). 5. All customers will be completely _________. The fish will give hours of _________ to you and to your _______. 6.Buy now before we sell ____ of them! 1) This is an advertisement from a newspaper. Please help Happy to fill in the blanks. 2) Suppose you are Happy. You want to sell more fish. So you need to make a different advertisement and act your own advertisement out in front of the class. 3) Remember the rules: A. Work in groups of 4 . B. You should tell something information about the fish. 4 African ghost fish C. Try to make your advertisement interesting so more customers will buy the fish. 活动说明:允许学生对课文进行适当的改动,充分运用想象力表演广告或者学生也可以根据主题设计出 海报。学习内容与生活发生了紧密联系,这激发了学生学习的强大动力,老师往往会有意想不到的精彩表 现。Task 6 Fish proverbs 1)Never offer to teach fish to swim. 2)Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day;Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime Task 7 Self –check (retell the text.) 活动说明:课文教授完后,让学生复述课文,使他们对课文内容了然于胸。每个四人组的组长交换,到对 方的组去评委,剩下的 3人开始复述,出错或者信息遗忘的同学就必须暂停,由另一个同学继续, 这样 所有的同学都必须认真听着,在规定时间内能复述完整篇课文的组获胜。如果是大型公开课,也可以让学 生找其他的英文老师复述,由听的老师给出评价。 Step 4 Homework Preview another fish story in page 83 .The fisherman and the fish .work in groups of 4. try to make a ppt. in includes key words and phrases. S: Today I want to share my own story with you … T: After listening to this story , I’d like to ask you three questions, ready? 1).Where did her mother buy the fish? S: in a pet shop 2). How many fish did they buy? S: two blackfish and one goldfish 3). Why did her mother buy fish for her? 5 S:because her mothers thinks they are very lovely and can bring a lot of happiness to her. T:Terrific! Totally right. What do you think of her speech today? Ok . 3.5points Step1 Pre-reading读前活动 T: it ‘s time for our Happy Hour , Two lovely fish for you ! Before we watch the video ,make sure you know these words. Can you look the new words up in the dictionary. ?(chic /awful ) T: Can you follow the video and speak English loudly?... 课后反思:经过前两个环节的铺垫,学生已经做好了阅读课文的准备,也对这种非洲鬼鱼充满了兴趣. Step2 While- reading 读中 Task1 Let’s play a guessing game. T: Challenge job begins! say out these words as quickly as possible. Stand up if you know , T: That’s a piece of cake, right? Let’s try one more. (课件出示) 6 1.check out 打量 2.stylish 时髦的 3.fashionable 时髦的 4.chic ? 5.awful ? T: Well done! boys and girls ,now let’s play a guessing game.i would like You to stand up and tell me which word it is.if you know the answer, stand up as quickly as You can , Are you ready? (课件出示) 课后反思:由于前一课时的铺垫,单词的讲解,所以这个环节进行的非常的顺利, 学生的热情比较高, 参与面也比较广,而这些所读和所猜的单词都是阅读部分的关键短语或者单词,为下面课文活动的顺利 开展做好铺垫。 Task 2 Ask and answer T: One day, Tony received this note from a student: ”My grandpa often tells us stories. I have enclosed this one. You might want to include it in your paper.” Let’s listen to the tape and think of the following questions at the same time 课件出示 S: Students are listening to the tape and sometimes underline the answers. 7 S: share their answers with their group members . 课后反思:在学生之间分享信息后,这样之后就大大节约了一一校对的时间,老师走到学生中去发现难 题,挑重点 5。6。8这三小提问进行了讲解。由于短时间内,学生要记忆这么多信息难度有点大,所以 HOT SEAT 环节敢走上讲台,接受其他同学提问的学生不是很多,或者这里可以分享答案后,把多人提问,一 人回答这个环节留到下一课时对阅读的巩固复习上。但下面学生提的问题倒还比较好。如 .Why do Happy move to another place after selling his fish tanks ? 学生的答案很多样,如: S1:because he likes traveling widely . he wants to go to many new places. S2: because more people want to buy his fish tanks in a new place ,he can make good business. S3: because he was afraid that people will not believe him one day and ask him to return the money for the fish tanks. He ran away. The top ten students can Come to the front and you can earn marks. S: after finishing them ,Students read the phrases clearly and loudly together T: look at your small piece of paper, there are 5 phrases in each bag. Choose one of the bags to exercise phrases. If every one in the Group, can say out the phrases within limited time, you can get 10 points. Students should read the phrases one by one . If your group use least time, you are the winners. you can get 20 points. 课后反思:这个环节,本来就侧重让更多的学生站起来参与竞争,而且要求是硬性的,必须每一个孩子 都参与,小组才能参加竞争,因为学生水平不一,还有为了帮助声音极低的同学练习胆量,所以操作起 来比预期多花了点时间。因为课堂时间的限制,这样有机会站起来参加竞争的组就少了点,学生意犹未尽 Step 3 post-reading Task 4 Discussion T: Now works in group of four, you can choose one topic to discuss. 9 S: clever… 课后反思:两个话题的设置拓展了学生思维的广度,学生只需选择一个话题讨论,在生成阶段,有的学 生对没有讨论的话题也能发表自己独到的见解,非常不错。老师可以适当引导,不是一味地培养学生认为 HAPPY ,是个狡猾的骗子这样的价值观。也尝试理解人们对于美好事物的追求的善意的谎言,毕竟买鱼缸 的成年人也不都是傻瓜。不同的价值导向带来了不同的结局预测。如 S1:he will become richer and richer. He is actually a clever and successful businessman. S2: Nobody believes him ,he can not make a living by selling fish tanks. He should do another business. Maybe he will be poor. S3: he likes travelling widely. Perhaps he will choose a very beautiful place to live in… Task 5. Advertisement 活动准备:提前就给学生一张 A3的纸,学生可以根据自己的实际情况选择自己个广告方式。可以是个人 演说。可以是海报形式,可以是表演形式等等。 T: Since you have got it ,now let’s have some practice.This is an advertisement from a newspaper. Please help Happy to fill in the blanks. 10 T: Suppose you are Happy. You want to sell more fish. So you need to make a different advertisement and act your own advertisement out in front of the class. Try to make your advertisement interesting so more customers will buy the fish. Watch carefully! T: According to your performance ,I will give you prize… 课后反思: 这个环节的设置带给了老师很多的惊喜,因为平时的训练,学生不惧怕表演,表演生成的也 快,效率高。有个别孩子为了能卖出更多的鱼还精心制作了海报(提前完成了)。让我印象深刻的是,一 个口语不是很出色的孩子也勇敢和组员走上了讲台,他以 I am a big big big big fish .i am a big ,big big ,big fish, 上台,熟悉的歌曲旋律一下感染了其他学生,他们帮他打起了拍子,接着又 调皮地转了个圈,说它是条能唱能跳的鱼,但是要买他必须先买他的鱼缸。他的表演赢得了很多掌声。我 很希望在中文的大环境里尽量给孩子创造说英语的环境,让他们在轻松的环境下能习得语言。同时这也是 让基础弱一点的孩子,不溜号,还能保持对英语的兴趣,努力去追赶的很好的办法。还有其他组的精彩表 现,如 G1: This invisible fish is very delicious and healthy. It contains a lot of vitamin A.B ,C .D.E.F…. And I can also teach you how to cook it .i am also good at cooking. G2: This invisible fish is very cheap .if you my fish , you can get a free fish tank. G3: you can look at me .i will give you a lot of happiness. I am your lucky fish。Buy me quickly! Task 6 Fish proverbs T: after learning this invisible fish . you can also learn some fish proverbs .In my opinin, it ‘s very cool if you you can say some proverbs. Would you please copy them ? Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day;Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime Task 7 Self –check (Retell the text with the help of some key words.) 课后反思:因为是公开课,所以鼓励鼓励学生勇敢走出来复述给其他英语老师听,前几个可能胆怯点, 后来看到只要迈出这一步,他们努力挣得了很多的分,也为小组赢得了荣誉。时间不允许的话,此环节也 可以作为第三课时阅读巩固的课前复习环节。平时我经常让他们组长互换监督组员复述,或者逆时针转, 交换同伴复述,座位的分配可以帮助学生更好地互动,进行更多智慧的碰撞。比如找短语时候就需要面对 面。讨论时可以逆时针换个位,小组比赛时,可以按小组站同一排,或同一列,表演的时候,可以在让表 11 演者在教室的中间。 Step 4 Homework Preview another fish story in page 83 .The fisherman and the fish .work in groups of 4. try to make a ppt. in includes key words and phrases. Blackboard design Group 4 3 2 1 Chapter 6 Fish story African Ghost Fish chic awful 【名师点评】 这节课从设计到实施到效果,都能够很好的贯彻现代 ou 英语教学的理念。在设计中巧妙的配合了讲解和 活动练习的过程,学生的输入与输出的转换过程中,习得了新的知识并锻炼了能力;另外,本节课能寓 教育于教学行动中,让课堂得到了升华。略略遗憾的就是学生大批涌上讲台的时候,可以进行倒数,前 20名学生查出新词可以获得加分。这样就给了学生一种紧迫感,不让学生慢腾腾地走上来,也节约了课 堂时间。 (南山实验学校麒麟中学英语组 吴学文老师评) 张红艳老师第六单元的公开课生动有趣,且富有时效性。以下几个环节给我印象最深: 首先她的课件非常精美,本课内容是关于鱼的故事,她的课以一个两条可爱的鱼对话的小短片开头,非 常吸引人。在讲语言点时,她让学生分组(四人组)自己找出并在文章里划出重点词组,然后把自己事先 准备好的词组包分成四组编号,让学生选择想要挑战的词组包(每组 5个短语),要求组里每位同学都 说一遍,用时最少的组获胜。我看出了小组合作的优越性:基础好的学生在竭尽全力帮助同组基础差的学 生,教他们读,态度比自己学还认真,这个做法效果很好,也解决了困扰我多年的一个老大难问题:课 堂竞赛是优生的天下,学习困难生只做观众。真正体现了互助学习,全员参与的特点,我非常欣赏. 还有一点值得肯定的是,在结束课时,她给学生介绍了几个很好的关于鱼的谚语,如: Never offer to teach fish to swim.不要班门弄斧)以及最后以 Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.
